glad to know Abbott passed a law letting 18 year olds buy guns in 2019, two years *after* a high school got shot up

 

Fluctuating between blind rage and devastating sadness reading the news tonight.

Yeah, as more faces are put to these numbers - this is so fucking much to handle. These innocent people. Good lord.

I live in Texas, and I'm furious. Some of my friends have taught at that school, and they are devastated. Right now I'm seeing all these glorious thoughts and prayers that did so much to keep those 19 children from being killed. But hey, here in Texas we're gonna force you to have that baby even if we know it's going to kill you, but once that baby is out we really don't give a fuck what happens to it as long as we can keep the bodies under the bed of the 2A that we love more than life itself (and especially more than those kids from today).

fuck my state. we need to be better.

 

Can’t fucking imagine sitting there waiting to find out if your kid died hours ago. Fuck.

 

Reminder that the Parkland security officer, a trained deputy, hid outside during that school shooting. Completely useless.

 

Why is the answer always to make schools more like prisons instead of focusing on the actual reasons this occurred? They don’t want to acknowledge that law enforcement was already on the scene and wasn’t able to stop him
