Ghost and Spiritbox sounds like a good ass time, and it's a tour actually hitting austin so count me in.

never really listened to mastadon, guess I should get on that.

 

That Houston venue just closed down

 

Man, here I was thinking death metal bands logos were hard to decipher.

Edit: good thing they had their website address at the bottom.

 

This sucks. I saw them like 10-11 days ago and they required everyone in the venue to have a mask, apparently it didn't help in the end.

 

Damn, cancelling the last 8-9 dates sucks. Usually bands miss a couple and they're back on. Hope everything is OK with them.

 

Whoever runs the SLS twitter (I assume Dylan) has been very very outspoken about following mask/vaccination rules on their tours. I recall one tweet awhile back where they said "we have decided as a band if we can't tour then we won't be a band"

Not jumping to conclusions or anything but this must really suck for them.

 

Someone replied to them and asked if they are breaking up and he said they have at least one more album to do.

Regarding the mask, It's kind of funny because at the show I was at there were signs everywhere saying "Spanish Love Songs encourage everyone to wear a mask during the show" (I don't remember the exact phrasing but I do remember the key word was "encourage") but when someone didn't have a mask on one of the security guards immediately went to them and told them they HAVE to wear a mask. After the show SLS posted about this show and how they were proud that 99% of the people had masks on but it actually wasn't even the crowd's choice.

I have been going to tons of shows post-COVID since things just started slowly opening up and I don't recall once (even in shows where masks were still mandatory) that any staff member came to one of the attendees and had them put their mask on. To say that they are "very very outspoken about following mask/vaccination rules on their tours" somehow still feels like an understatement.
