My Chemical Romance – “The Foundation of Decay” • Page 2

Discussion in 'Article Discussion' started by Melody Bot, May 12, 2022.

  1. I find no ass mixing on this track. The choices seem purposeful and definitely help to give this song a unique sound, separating it from precious work. It’s glorious and mega-heavy — love Gerard’s howl/scream about halfway in. This really feels like progress in terms of their sound and so glad to hear new music from these guys.

Wow I fucking love it! That middle section is absolutely nuts! Everyone will have something to say about the mix. I think it works great. They could have easily gone for a balanced, super clean sound, and they completely did the opposite, and I think that’s really admirable. I love it all

As a casual fan of Three Cheers, and never having really listened to any of the other albums besides singles, I’m liking this. I love the boldness of returning with this epic and huge sounding 6 minute song.

The mix works a lot better for the back half of the track than the chorus but I think I still like the choice. Reminds me of letlive’s blackest beautiful and I loved that and think it fits.

    that being said, holy shit.

Lol. Saying that John Agnello who mixed Cope isn't in the same stratosphere as Rich Costey is just silly. Take a look at his credits and stand by this post.

Apologies if my tone wasn't subjective enough. I understand it's a stylistic choice and isn't necessarily mixed badly, I just dislike it. Is that better?

It sounds like MCR but cooler? I don’t know, that little breakdown just hits different compared to the verse. The dynamics work well, and the mix gives it a raw feel.

    Aaaachem!

This reminds me of the first time we all heard goodness by the hotelier. Intentional yes, but, that mix still, in fact, sucks. No strong opinion on this one yet because I only listened through my phone speaker.

Death Touches Us, From the Moment we Begin to Love Supporter

As an old school fan from the "I Brought You My Bullets... " (I have only seen them live 3 times all of which was pre "Three Cheers") days. I must say, this song is great! It's raw, brooding, it's 6 minutes, it definitely is a bold statement showing that the boys haven't missed a beat. Welcome back!

This song makes me more interested in whatever else was recorded, especially if it's meant to revolve around/connect to it.
