He knew his name. Probably as simple as finding out when that Werner died (there were a few others)

Flawless episode outside of Gus saying good afternoon then going out and it being either sunrise or sunset... but that's likely just me who found that off.

I was so pissed Saul actually went into the ring. The whole time I was thinking 'this is really stupid' and then when he walked away I was relieved and then they cut to the next scene of them in the ring and I was pissed, haha.

Not sure if it was the worst scene of the series, but it definitely felt beneath this show's caliber.

if I was writing a parody of this show but did not understand how it usually takes ridiculous scenarios and twists them into something revealing about the characters or deeply moving, I'd probably write something like that

I'm just glad Lalo didn't kill the dog

    Or Werner's wife

But more importantly the dog lol

That was intentional on the part of the writers. Gus is too on-edge about Lalo remaining alive to have a clear head.

I think it's from the travel place and the paperwork and the wire transfer that was going on.

I think there's another layer to their plan. Kinda think Kim and Jimmy want Howard to become paranoid and figure out its clearly Jimmy ruining his life

I still don't really know what their endgame is for Howard, but now it seems like it might go sideways pretty quickly since he's hired a guy to track Jimmy. Considering Mike also has guys keeping tabs on Jimmy, I can see there being a pretty big miscommunication there and an assumption that the guy and/or Howard has some involvement with Lalo. Or maybe Howard makes the discovery that Jimmy has had some cartel involvement.

My overall thoughts are that it was a slow moving episode, but a lot of significant things happened without it really seeming like they did?

    - Kim and Jimmy obviously knew Howard would find out and it's part of their plan, but what that plan is, I don't know. Maybe just watching him go crazy ranting to Cliff about how they're involved, and they know that Cliff will think Howard is just crazy and never suspect them and will make him more likely to cut ties on the sandpiper case.
    - Kim was told to ignore Mike's guys and is now probably going to ignore Howard's guy trailing them thinking it's Mike's guy. At this point, there are a lot of eyes on Jimmy, including probably the lady who talked to Kim about wanting Jimmy to talk and rat on Lalo.
    - Gus hid the gun and counted out steps from the generator so he's expecting to lure Lalo there, kill the lights and shoot him.
    - I think it's been said multiple times, but from Saul in BB, it appears he doesn't know that Lalo is dead and could still be after him so somehow Lalo's demise will go under his radar.
    - I am wondering what exactly is on the plaque that will lead Lalo to the next step.
    - I thought the boxing scene was great. It was goofy but obviously intentional and I dug it.

It seemed like they used the fight with Howard to really lean into Kim giving Jimmy the "I'll fight for you" ad angle. Thought maybe that showed up somewhere in BB and had its roots here, but all I can find is one of those commercials that popped up alongside the actual episodes.

Re: Jimmy not knowing Lalo was dead - This makes me wonder what else will happen between the two or how he will find out that Lalo isn't (currently) dead after all. Kim still hasn't told him that she knows Lalo is alive.

Re: The plaque - I think he might use that plaque he found to track down some of Werner's employees that worked on the lab (in other words, he might be able to figure out who placed the order for it). I think he might even know Kai's name from the time he managed to call Werner at that resort.

    hmmm

Moody, silent Gus is better when he's offset by kindly restaurant owner Gus, and BCS almost never uses the latter. I get that he's paranoid thinking about Lalo at the moment but there's a lot of 'Gus makes unhappy face in a room with a dark lighting aesthetic'.

Glad to see Lalo again. Nice, gentle intro to Werner's wife in the bar before we hear his voice. And yeah, I'm glad he didn't kill her. Or the dog.

Best bit of the episode was Howard instantly figuring out who was responsible for the incidents when Clifford confronted him. I was rooting for him there.

Yeah, same as how it was out of character for him to knock that glass off the table.

Obviously the show is still great, but it does feel kinda weird that the main plot of the final season has basically been pranking Howard

Steve you really thinking they’re “pranking” him? There’s a long game we don’t see yet. They’re truly trying to unravel him and also getting the sandpiper money to the ones who deserve it.
