No question this is the greatest prequel anything of all time. The only other thing that comes close is Fire Walk With Me.

I must now go to the source Supporter

I guess technically you could refer to Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes trilogy as a prequel to the original, buuuuut they’re also now starting up production - supposedly this fall - on a follow up series of films set in the same universe that will eventually remake the original again. So…I guess it’s also technically not so much a prequel to the original now so much as the beginning of a new revision of the original. And also this next set of films will not be directed by Matt Reeves but rather Wes Ball of the Maze Runner films. So. Eh?

Highlight of this episode for me was seeing a couple of minor BB characters…and how they weren’t quite as messed up yet.

Jimmy in full Howard makeup in the beginning was so amusing.

Was actually super stressed for Kim after all the shit that went down last week

Panning to Jimmy dressed as Howard killed me. And the decoy house was cool.

  11. Rhea Seehorn directed the hell out of this one. So many cool shots and angles.

    hmmm

Saul moving Howard's car one space along really relied on Howard being inattentive in the extreme, which he isn't. I hope he's more aware than they're currently letting on but he didn't seem to show any notice at all.

Enjoyed the episode after that point though. Nacho's death this early in the season feels a little comparable to them placing the Walter/Hank confrontation first episode back after the mid-season break in S5 of BB - a plot resolution that everyone was expecting but not quite so early, in order to really focus in on a more specific aspect...in this case, Kim's fate.

I felt this way too. Thought to myself as Howard walked back out, "there is no way in hell he doesn't recognize that his car is not in the same spot". However, I think I can reconcile this by remembering that Howard is a different person than he was in the earlier seasons. Chuck's death broke him and he clearly is having some marital issues. I think this goes to show that he is much more distracted now. Almost kinda similar to Gus knocking the glass of the table.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

got kinda emotional seeing Kim and Mike finally meet face to face. other than that, definitely a choice to follow last week's episode with... this

was I supposed to recognise the couple cycling at the beginning? no idea who they were

No it was just a set up to the decoy house later. I thought it was a great episode.

Quite the directorial debut from Rhea Seehorn here. Hope she gets more opportunities to direct in the future.

This episode was a good kinda low key episode following last week. Kim and Mike meeting was very cool.

Yeah this was a great setup episode for what’s to come. When Lalo finally shows up it’s going to be terrifying.

What do we think Lalo is doing/planning right now? I still think he probably hasn't completely given up on proving Gus is building the super lab, but I haven't really given much thought as to how he plans on proving Gus had conspired with Nacho.

My guess is Kim doesn’t tell Saul Lalo is alive, and Saul plays ball with the Court since he doesn’t want everyone to hate him unbeknownst to Kim. Then Lalo goes after Kim as punishment for Saul.

However this show works out, Saul comes out on the other end as a "friend of the cartel".

I would not be surprised if Kim and Jimmy's plan drives Howard to do something truly tragic. He's clearly in a vulnerable place in his life.
