ICYMI, George Pettit's other band Dead Tired put out a couple of new singles the other day.

Teaser sounds pretty cool - can’t wait!

  4. It's already out there on their subreddit. The quality isn't great but I could tell it was classic Alexisonfire, with the chorus hook in particular finally hitting that sweet spot I was looking for since their return. It wouldn't sound out of place on Old Crows / Young Cardinals, even though George's gnarlier screams are back, and there's now some stoner rock soloing on top too. I appreciate the addition of organs, and I wonder if they'll be all over the record as well.

    If you don't, don't

New song absolutely rips. I reckon they could’ve gotten away with throwing in a big over-the-top solo after that last chorus as well

It slaps and fucks as all the cool kids say but the mix leaves a lot to be desired for me.

Song is cool but something just isn't hitting right with the production.

Yeah the vocals seem buried… especially with the the would be gang vocals during the chorus.

Other than that, I dig it.

Big fan of the buried vocals on the chorus but the production in general is kinda bad. Like, Blackest Beautiful level bad.

this sounds horrible, production wise. holy shit. the compression on this hurts my ears a bit, I'm not exaggerating

Both new songs are cool, but whoever produced this belongs in jail

I guess the band belongs in jail then because I have reason to believe it was self produced haha.

We were definitely spoiled by how good Crisis sounded compared to their later efforts.

The credits on Spotify say produced by Alexisonfire, so it would appear you’re right lol

    Lock em up

Is there a reason musicians put out poorly produced music? Is it just a matter of preference or what?

The production reminds me of Crisis’ a lot

I will never understand the preferring to have horrible production. Like the song is great, but can't see myself really returning too often because the production is terrible. The vocals are so buried and everything just sounds a bit off. Like how do you record this and listen back and not have an issue with it? Very strange choice.

Another good one. I agree with the production, Dallas is hard to hear in chorus of this and Sweet Dreams, which is baffling considering it's freaking Dallas Green. Still hyped for this though.

guess im the only person that doesnt really mind the production lol, tho it aesthetically made more sense on sweet dreams than it does here. sounds better than the 2019/2020 singles at least (despite said shitty prod having no bearing on my immense love for season of the flood)

Really? I thought Crisis was much cleaner than this. I absolutely love the new songs, but the mix sounds so rough to me.
