I'd be all about 75% of day one being on Riot, hah. Bad Religion, Descendents, and Lagwagon are always must-sees for me. Though unless they announce tours around this festival I'm not sure any of those three being on Four Chords means they'd be in for Riot as well (because it'd probably be a fly-in otherwise).

Both IATA and Bombpops would be cool adds on the smaller tip. H2O as well, though it took so long for Riot to book them the first time that I'm not convinced they'll be back again. Hah.

Jimmy Eat World, Story of the Year, and Mom Jeans would all be solid additions as well. JEW is due for a return, I'm surprised SOTY has never played before, and Mom Jeans would be a great early day main stage set.

Riot and Four Chords are on different weekends

They have dates for all 3 days of Riot

That's my point. If Lagwagon is flying in for a single show the weekend before Riot it has little to nothing to do with whether or not they'll be flying in for another show the next weekend.

So unless there's a tour around it, I don't know that it makes it any more or less likely that they'd be on Riot. If anything, it'd be kind of a drag for them to fly out to PA, fly back home, and then fly back out to Chicago a few days later. Far as I can tell, most of the older 90s punk bands are kind of over the hustle at this point.

That being said, a run of east coast or midwest tour dates could change all that. And Lagwagon did have to cancel a few east coast dates back in December...

I read it like they would have to fly from Pittsburgh to Chicago, my apology sir...

Oh yeah. If it were on the same weekend, it'd be a no-brainer. But flying from CA to PA, then back to CA for like 2-3 days, then back to Chicago? Just feels like a lot. But Fishbone also did something similar last year in a much shorter timeframe. So nothing's out of the question.

Weekend after Riot Lagwagon is playing Furnace Fest. Same with TSSF, Mom Jeans, Descendents, and Angel Du$t. You could probably start piecing together tour routing based on festivals here soon.

Great point! Though I think that mostly holds true for TSSF, Mom Jeans, and Angel Du$t. Lagwagon and Descendents do a lot of festival fly-ins/one-offs rather than full blown tours. Only reason I'm skeptical.

I see lots of cross over with four chords lineup being on riot fest

hell i could see 90% of the bands being on Riot Fest. Could ATL and Bad Religion potentially be co-headliners?

Doubtful, Bad Religion was sixth from the top on the day of the last time they played and All Time Low (who might not be worth the backlash of booking) were ninth.

Aside from it being a bad look to book ATL as I and others mentioned above, there’s no way they are headliner potential, even before the allegations. If you are not playing stadiums, arenas, or amphitheaters (even the smaller 10k ones for arenas and amphitheaters), you probably (key word, there are exceptions) are not big enough to headline. That’s my cutoff at least.

What's interesting is that they were sixth from the top but played after Alkaline Trio and Father John Misty, and about the same time as Incubus. It makes sense given the "weight" the other band names have but it's still interesting how the dynamic played out there.

Bad Religion definitely isn't a co-headliner. But they're also almost definitely a stage closer.

They closed the Radicals stage in 2018 and played all of Suffer(the schedule that day was all over the place), but played mid-day on the main stage in 2016

I could totally see Riot asking them to do a Process of Belief album play maybe third from the top on the main stage

Watching Bad Religion, Underoath, Deftones, Rob Zombie and then Misfits (I believe in that order) without having to move at all was a pretty sweet experience. I posted up between the two stages and it worked well.

hell yea, and not to mention tiger army and thursday in front of all that!. i remember deftones/me first was my biggest conflict that day and i chose me first as id never seen them, but id seen deftones a time or 2 from the lawn of an ampitheater, and year later i still need to seem the up close at least once.

My 2 biggest wants this year are Story of the Year and RX Bandits. Based on how they always like tweets asking them to come to Chicago, I see RXB as a full-on lock.

In the sense that towards the end I felt like bamboozle was taking so long to announce acts cause they didn't have any. I remember the last few years we were like a month away and they still had half the bands to announce.

They were obsessed with announcing a few bands at a time.

Now whether that was the case or not, idk, but in my eyes I felt like they had no idea what they were doing towards the end.

But yes, bamboozle opened themselves to a lot more variety
