So if the previous film is anything to go off of, this will have little to nothing to do with Dumbledore's secrets.

  7. Man, the aesthetic of these movies is terrible - let's take a vibrant, imaginative concept with nearly no limitation and just smoother it with grey.

Setting aside that JK Rowling is a terrible example of a person - I've been a HP fan since about the 6th grade. I loved the books and enjoyed the movies. That said, I have no desire to see this movie. The first Fantastic Beasts was a mild pleasant surprise but the 2nd was easily one of the worst movies I've seen. It'll never happen in an industry that is only fueled by IP but please just give it up with HP for a bit.

This franchise really would have benefitted from not having the same guy direct 10 of the 14 films.

Also would benefit from not being written by a virulent transphobe

So as of now, my theater doesn’t seem to be getting this movie at all. It’s easily the biggest movie that hasn’t come to my theater. It’s bizarre.

Not that I was super looking forward to it, but I did want to see how much worse these could get.

So this wasn't great, but a lot of things I liked better than the previous one. Mads should have been Grindelwald from the start.

Yeah. It’s better than the previous two (low bar). I appreciate the world building expansion more than anything on a technical/writing side.

    This was… fine. I guess.

Once again the title doesn’t really make sense. We don’t learn any secrets of Dumbledore. I guess they could say learning exactly how Creedence is a Dumbledore is a secret? But that was Aberforth’s secret. Oh well.

i honestly don’t care about Newt at all. He’s just too much of a weirdo for me. More annoying than quirky for me. But not enough to ruin everything with him for me.

Man, Katherine Waterson may have dodge a bullet by being written out of this movie nearly entirely. But the reason they give for her absence is so dumb. She got promoted to head Auror and is too busy to help. Meanwhile Theseus who is standing right there, who is ALSO a head Auror, has time to help. That’s the best JK could come up with? Pathetic.

I really liked Queenie in the first movie. Her putting a spell on Jacob to be with her in the second was not that great and joining the bad guy for reasons that don’t really make sense didn’t help things either. And here she is lifeless, moping around and reading peoples minds for Grindelwald occasionally, but not even always telling him everything. That’s all she does. So when she tells Jacob near the end that she has gone too far down a dark path I have no idea what she’s talking about. She hung out with bad guys, sure. But I can’t think of one bad thing she actually did. It just feels weird since it doesn’t seem to match what happened. If the next ones get made, hopefully she gets something to do.

Jacob was fun again. Probably the most consistently good part of these films.

I think this was the official confirmation that Ariana was an obscurus. I know it’s been theorized since the first FB, but I don’t believe it was ever confirmed.

I don’t understand what the whole Dr strange type else World that Dumbledore does with Creedence and Grindelwald. What is that about?

I guess they can now easily have Creedence die offscreen between films if they decide to dump Ezra. He seems like he’s hours to days away from death by the end.

Mads is definitely an improvement to Depp and looks more like someone Dumbledore could have fallen for.

Jude Law is still solid, but I feel like he doesn’t really get enough to do. I dunno. He’s always been the man with the plan and not always active. But I thought these movies would give us more. Oh well.

I enjoyed Jessica Williams. A decent supporting role. Hope we get more of her character.

Yusuf was a character in the film. He existed. He does nothing and says very little. I’m pretty sure Queenie has more lines talking about him then he actually says things. You could cut him from the film and nothing changes. I feel bad for the actor. Gets this big movie to just exist. I guess it’s exposure for him at least.

If they’re gonna keep shoving Mcgonagall in for a random cameo despite the timeline not matching up, at least let her do something.

also, we see Lally disapporate with Jacob. We next see them entering a fireplace with Floo powder and then Jacob calls it a port key. I guess they could say Jacob was confused because he’s a muggle, but it just came off weird to me.

I guess I had more thoughts about this movie than I thought I did.
