For real. I've been checking for leaks every day since it was announced

Never been more excited for an album!

 

Gimmetheshakes sounds great. Reminds me of The Swellers a little bit.

 

this is gonna be my fave record from them I can tell gd these new tracks rock

That's where I'm at with it. Still going to be great, but nothing will hold a candle to Careen Suicide/Ruiner/Mute Print. I'm beyond excited for it.

 

Still have only heard Be One To No One and pretty excited for what’s to come. Definitely don’t think it’s out of reason to expect this will top Partycrasher

 

could not fathom going into a band I loves new album thinking “it’s gonna be their weakest.” just absolutely warped thinking imo but do your thing I guess

 

what I mean is yeah you’re probably gonna like all the albums you’ve been listening to for 10-15 years or longer more, but so what? they’re putting out a brand new collection of music and it’s gonna slap, I don’t see the need to concern myself with what’s the best or not before the albums even out, and that kind of mentality will paint your initial impressions whether you mean it to or not and it’s unfair because you’re not meeting the album on its own terms, you’re giving it an impossible bar to reach before it even has a chance to try

 

Can't definitively speak for anyone else, but I think it might've been meant to be a compliment. Like, even at their worst, they still fucking rule.

For me, I'm ready for whatever. I only listened to the first single and I can't wait to finally get an entire new Wilhelm LP on Friday. These guys are some of the best to ever make melodic/technical/whatever punk and I'm thankful they're still at it.

 

I have been waiting for this album since they first started talking about working on a follow up to Partycrasher. It's so close and I know I'll love it regardless of where it I would end up ranking it, though I dont really rank their albums, I love each release for different reasons.

 

Yes! Though if I recall they said something after Partycrasher about it “not taking as long to do another album”, but here we are 10 years later lol. I’m just glad to be getting some new music from them!

 

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant when I agreed with it being their "worst" album. Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond excited to finally hear it.

BTW, when I talked w their label owner at a Wilhelm show in November he told me they are planning on putting out a part 2 record very soon after this one, but I would definitely not hold my breathe for it given their track record.

 

Well, it's out there if you know where to look. Sounds fantastic. It's definitely a lot to take in. Going to listen to it and nothing else for the foreseeable future
