Very cool. Haven’t thought of this band in years. Soundtrack for today will be “Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now”

My advice is to go see this band. They sound great live and have such a high energy memorable performance. Wish they still made new music together.

Theyre from my hometown! I used to see these guys play all the time play at rec centres and churches all in my neighbourhood. Once they played with Alexisonfire at the church around the corner from my house.

Haven't seen them since one of The Red Tree anniversary shows in Toronto when Alexisonfire was the surprise opener.

I'd like to reiterate that if you've never seen these guys live; do so!

I went to the one where Matt from The Get Up Kids opened. Moneen sounded amazing (as they always do) and after playing Red Tree front to back played bunch more songs after that. I think their genuine energy as a band has never been matched in a live venue by any other band I’ve seen.

One of my first shows ever was Saves the Day, TBS, Moneen.
Went for the headliners, left a bigger Moneen fan than either of the others.

I saw that tour up front against the barricade at Stubbs in Austin. Still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

I wish they'd do shows outside of the GTA in Canada; they're definitely on my bucket list.

Was also a that show. Wish I had a stronger relationship with The Get Up Kids, as I know I would have appreciated what was objectively a great set more.
And completely agree about Moneen as a live band. They rank among the bands I've seen most - and they always provide such a consistently fun experience. I'll never forget them abruptly stopping their set because I was among some fans getting accosted by security (free SXM Christmas concert at Tattoo Rock Parlour - Arkells opened...needless to say they've followed different trajectories), and only once security left the pit did they launch back into Passing Of America exactly where they'd left off.

Seeing Moneen in high school was "going to a local show". Lol. Hopefully you'll get your chance one day!

I remember seeing Moneen and The Get Up Kids on their "farewell" tour in 2005 at the Kool Haus and during the encore when TGUK did their cover of The Cure's "Close To Me" Kenny was just dancing around on stage with no shirt on the entire song.

I wish I had as much energy as Kenny and Hippy in my daily life routines.

I worked with Kenny on a project once (not music related) and he was the nicest person and attacked everything with that same energy he had in stage (although has a real down to earth side to him too).

I remember seeing him jumping off Amos into the ceiling tiles at Call The Office a few times. It’s amazing how they can sing and play perfectly to what the records sound like while still performing full out. And that’s all guys.

I'll have to seek that podcast out. But what's the coles notes explanation? It's always been hard to make heads of tails of it as they pretty abruptly stopped as an active band, yet made music as Seas, ****er, BR/DGES, etc., Kenny also produced and guitar-teched for his friends' bands, and then pop up to play shows every year or three.

I lived there for a few years. Also, GTA for a number of years, and so I’m quite familiar with Brampton and all the surrounding cities. It’s cool because the bands genuinely seem to be supportive of one another.

    Lurking Since 2005

It was the 2nd concert I ever went to (first being The Beach Boys at a Casino with my parents). I bought Moneen's record that night in San Diego at SOMA. What an amazing show.
