For anyone in the Dallas area, local bands will have single day tickets at a discounted price. I believe it’s $75 versus the $120 online after fees.

Yeah, that Oblivion Access lineup is bat shit insane and very genre diverse. I wish I could afford to make the trip.

I think this is the USA's answer to Roadburn. Stacked.

I love seeing lineups like this. Kinda reminds me of a more indie version of FFF

One of their guitar players is a huge Kiss fan so I mean lol... but I think Hatebreed would not gel well with the average Kiss fan.

Yeah Frank is a super Kiss nerd. If Hatebreed opens for KISS that’d be the funniest thing

I have heard from several bands and people who have toured with PWD say how much they absolutely hate playing the US and they don’t come over unless they feel they really need to

I can see a lot of bands that are huge in Europe thinking the same way. It must be physically and mentally exhausting coming from headlining the biggest festivals in Europe and playing sold out arenas, and arrive to the US and not being able to move a lot of tickets. Not sure about other cities but the Parkway Drive date in Chicago was not selling well last time I checked.

And I can think other examples like Biffy Clyro or Kasabian whose last shows in here were at the House of Blues after headlining several festivals overseas. Now I understand why they dont tour in the US that often.

Why do they hate playing here so much?

I hate America too right now so I can't blame them.

I think this is a fair mindset and if acts from the UK/Europe/Asia don't feel they need to break in the US in order to be successful, I don't blame them for not wanting to come over here and slug it. That being said, the reason the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, The 1975, etc were able to become successful on both sides of the pond is the fact they put in serious roadwork. Radiohead did multiple US tours in the 90's and even opened for likes of Soul Asylum and Alanis Morisette before they were an arena-filler. Coldplay had to play modern rock radio fests with nu metal bands in 2001-02 before they were headlining large venues. Muse opened for the likes of My Chemical Romance before they go to where they were. Most recently, The 1975 did MULTIPLE tours on their first album to build their fanbase here. Touring the US is MUCH different than touring the UK in that it's a much bigger country and there isn't always a festival to headline which means you have to basically play 500-1000 capacity clubs in order to win over new fans. That's daunting if you aren't used to it.

Was just about to say this. I remember this entire show so clearly - I was on the barricade the whole time. Oh to be young again haha

Learned the other day that Cancer Bats feels this way. Way bigger in Canada and Europe so why go to the US?
