Anyone excited for Darling?

Got a decent write up in the NY Times this morning. Should be fun.

 

If you go, let me know. Though I've sort of told my daughter I'll take her, so that should be fun

 

It's a live action anime basically. Like you could take that movie, animate it, and it would translate perfectly.

 

Sweet Home is great too, speaking of Japanese horror films about homes.

 

He's been teasing another Firefly film?

 

Yup, I follow him on FB and at least twice in the last couple months he's asked for thoughts on a third film and says he'd like to go back and do another film with them

 

I'd imagine it would have to be a prequel of some sorts. But that'd be tough because didn't someone major die recently?

 

Nah Sig Haig, Sheri Zombie, & Bill Moseley are all still alive & well

 

Matthew McGory died in 2005, he was Tiny Firefly.

 

Anyone see the Martyrs remake? Just found out that the lead is someone I went to high school with. Weird.

 

I heard it was garbage compared to the original. Haven't seen it though, so I really can't comment on it personally.

 

I heard the same. I'll probably check it out just for shits. I figured it wouldn't translate well.

 

My wife and I really want to go, but due to us having a family reunion in June, I don't think I'll have the funds to go.

 

So could we talk about haunted houses in here since it's a similar thing? Scarefest, the company here in STL who are behind the Darkness and Creepyworld, posted pictures of a set they're going to debut at Creepyworld this year:



A whole X-mas attraction, thought it was a pretty cool idea.

 

I remember my friend had DVD-R of that and it was in HORRIBLE quality, but we watched the whole thing and loved it. Played the game immediately after that too.

 

A buddy of mine and I found a torrent of it, it was basically VHS quality but it was still decent. Fun fact about that game, Resident Evil was originally supposed to be a remake of it. As it went along development, the development team decided to do something different and that gave us the RE series we know today.

 

A Krampus haunted house? That sounds awesome!

 

Those pics look awesome. I watched Krampus last night so I'm feeling the Christmas theme.

 

I'm wondering if it is the replacement for Silo-X, which was the flagship attraction at Creepyworld for years. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is a massive haunted house in Fenton, MO. Like 13 or so attractions I think, just huge. Takes a good hour/hour and a half to get through it.

 

This sounds incredible.

 

It's really great, like seeing it grow over the years into what it is now has been awesome to see. I wish there was a tour video of it somewhere, it's really a sight to see. Here's a couple of the attractions:

What's really cool about the place, and the Darkness too for that matter, is the level of detail ScareFest puts into the attractions. The set pieces are super detailed and gory, it's actually kinda unnerving at times just seeing some of it.

 

There's also a haunted attraction here where I live called Phobius, it was an attraction from Dallas that a couple people bought from the original owners, shipped all the set pieces up here, and then set up at the old Ameriwood factory. Kinda short but it's a really well done haunted house and I love going to it.

 

Sounds great. I live 45 minutes outside of Philly, so we have some decent options, but everything seems a little too cartoonish and thrown together. I'd like to go to a genuine horror fan's haunted house.

 

Finally got around to watching American Mary tonight. Really dug it. Katharine Isabelle is awesome. I really wish I could see her in more things.

 

Throwing on the Still Screaming doc now. May follow that up with the Silence of the Lambs bluray I just picked up.
