Well, I think it’s two sides that have always been there. Even on like the early, early records, like Sink Or Swim, you have “The Navesink Banks” and “Red At Night” that are more Americana. But I know that when I finished doing Local Honey, there was very strong sense of completion. When that record was done, I felt I had achieved something, whatever it was that I was working at. And I was like, “Well, chapter closed. What am I going to do now? You know what’s pretty cool? Rock music. Playing guitars. I want to turn up something to 10 and play. Kick an amp over or something. That sounds great right now.”

    Not Miserable Now

Don't be so cynical. If you've ever seen Brian perform his passion and love for music is undeniable. So stoked they are back!!!

I thought this ticked all the boxes I wanted to hear.

Want to go forward and make new music, they're doing it for the passion of it and not going through the motions. Also, it sounds like they don't plan an FOB style total reinvention, but to build on what they learnt through out their career now it's more removed.

Excited to hear some new stuff.

who said anything about Brian or anyone in the band not being passionate about music? They can be passionate and also realize this is the way to make the most. Of course they want the money and nothings wrong with it. Just like there’s nothing wrong with the dude point it out.

As much as I love these guys, that quote sounded like it was straight from a MGK interview.

Brian has been awesome at everything he’s done.

In regards to wanting to rock out with band, he did kind of already go back there on Sleepwalkers and that record is awesome.

Wish he could continue in both the Gaslight and solo ventures because both are great and allow him to explore something different.

For now it’ll be fun to see what sound they go with on a new record, what producer, label and so on. I feel like touring first before before going into the studio is a solid idea. Wonder if they’ll eventually introduce a new song (like they did with Biloxi Parish) or hold out until a new album in Spring/Summer 2023.

Still wish they kept the original version of biloxi parish.
