  1. Putting "Miles Davis and the Cool" in my playlist along with a Blink w/ Tom song was me being mean a lil mean. :crylaugh:

  2. I’ve only seen TGA once, in Columbus OH in summer of 2010 so I’ll definitely be hitting up a date on this tour

I’ve seen them once at home in Pittsburgh, then in Columbus, Cleveland and jersey for the 59 sound tour. Me and the same 3 friends every time. We are fucking pumped.

OH DON'T YOU WORRY I literally said to my friend: "but he fucking put Wasting Time on there too so it could be blink with Tom??" I was very torn on which you were teasing cause there's obviously the blink with Tom theories out there haha ... I am so so so glad it ended up being Gaslight.

Lol never in my wildest dreams did I think it was going to be a full on return. I just figured anniversary tour like everyone else.

I was telling my friends a blink w/Tom reunion was coming because of your newsletters! Just didn’t see this as a real possibility. Glad I was wrong.

(but I’m still hopeful we’re getting blink w/Tom next year)

Might just write my Handwritten 10-year piece now, since I have so many thoughts and feelings about this band swirling around my head.

I am probably the last person on this website to become a TGA fan.

I was never a fan of them when they were active, despite many, many, many attempts to get into them - as early as The 59 Sound.

To my surprise, I really, really enjoyed Brian's solo albums so after falling in love with Painkillers and Sleepwalkers in 2018, I thought for sure TGA would finally click and they still didn't at that time.

When COVID hit, and everything shut down and I had to work from home, I was determined to finally get into TGA, played them nonstop in the background while I worked and all of a sudden, it just clicked. All of it. It probably helped that Brian was releasing Local Honey, and he was super, super active on Instagram Live and told a lot of stories about TGA and played a lot of the songs and talked about the meaning and the background of his writing style and it just all came together for me at once. TGA has been in heavy rotation ever since.

Very excited for the opportunity to see them live finally - and hear new music. Was supposed to see Brian live back in January, but the show was cancelled. Still bummed about that.

The first TGA show I saw live — the Middle East basement in Boston, right before Handwritten came out. They were deliberately doing a run of smaller shows if I recall, because they’d traditionally play the House of Blues even before then.

Nothing will ever top it and it was the perfect experience of seeing this band for the first time. My friends and I stumbled out of there like we’d just been swimming, it was so fuckin gross and hot lol.

I still remember feeling like the walls would cave in when Brian hit the last “And I lit a fire that wouldn’t go out” in Film Noir (2:30 in this video; sound quality’s bad obv because the building was about to come down but you can seriously hear that energy)

I’m fairly confident Benny adjusted the set list for one of their Pier shows in NYC for me lol. He and I had exchanged a few tweets about basketball and I mentioned I was driving from Boston to NYC and if they could play Senor and the Queen that’d be rad. They played three shows that weekend and that was the only difference on the set lists was they added that in for my night.

First show you saw Gaslight at. Go.

Mine was Rise Against, Thrice, Alkaline Trio, and Gaslight tour. Congress Theatre. Left after Trio.

I saw an advertisement in AP for The ‘59 Sound. For whatever reason I thought they were a SceneCore band and then heard them and fell in love.

Was anyone else at the show they did at Radio City Music Hall in September of 2010? It was so wild to me then to think they were still on an indie label and sold out a place the size of Radio City.

I’m a long-time lurking supporter and rarely post.

    But this news?

It absolutely takes the cake —and something I didn’t see happening.

However, when I listened to Brian Fallon on the Chris DeMakes podcast the other day —I replayed the part about Gaslight ever coming back three or four times. It was something about the way he said it that told me maybe it’d happen sooner rather than later.

Then, I brushed it off as wishful thinking.

    And here we are.

I remember seeing Gaslight for The 59' Sound record release show in New York City at The Knitting Factory.

I’d only heard Sink or Swim and loved it —but that show transformed me.

    Let's do this.

American Slang Tour. Somewhere in Detroit, think it was Saint Andrews, had to be around 2010.

I went back and listened to it again this morning and posted this earlier. If you read a transcript of that interview it wouldn’t give any hints, but it’s his tone. He was soooooooo much more perky talking Gaslight than he has been in like 10 years to be honest lol
