There was a rumor pre-pandemic that Pearl Jam had two nights booked at the United Center. Whether that is actually true or not...who knows, but I guess them not being on the Lolla lineup leada a tiny bit more credence to that happening.

    That's...what he said "sans"

  3. I kind of feel like I underestimated Green Day's draw now. Even with the huge tour last summer, I figured they were a little below what Lolla usually gets. Hope they do Riot eventually though.

I thought for sure Arcade Fire would do some festivals this year with the new album. They'd be a really cool Riot headliner.

Primus announced a European tour for September, so they’re out

To be fair, that's what a lot of us said about MGK last year and we saw how that turned out lol

Fingers crossed for Fucked Up and PUP. Those drops were the biggest ones for me.

  7. I was hoping for them too, but they're playing Thalia Hall in July so I assume they're out.

Damn. Hopefully Riot gives them a pass on the radius clause this year due to the border crossing snafu last year, but I have a feeling they're too big for that to happen.

If riot puts out the line up in waves this year, they could be in a final wave, announced after their july show already happens, fingers crossed

For sure! Key difference, to me anyway, is that MGK was desperate for any attention and was booked at a number of other rock festivals at the time. I'm not convinced Avril would even want to do something like Riot.

FWIW, Riot lands smack in the middle of a relatively open set of dates for them. They have like, a month and a half off with nothing. I could definitely see them doing Riot as a one-off.

That band has a ridiculously busy schedule this ear. Looking at all those dates just stressed me out. Haha.

I am so glad you mentioned their busy schedule, because it made me look up their tour dates. I somehow had no idea they had a Boston show scheduled for this summer (at a great venue, too). Looks like I'll have a way to see them even if they don't end up on RF! Thanks for making my day better by accident haha

EDIT: Damn, I've been slacking. PUP is playing Boston in May, and I didn't know about that show either.

Calling Holyoke "Boston" is a little extreme, but yup! They're hitting up MA twice in the summer. I just now noticed the date in July too. I might actually trek out for the outdoor show. That sounds fun!

I didn't even notice PUP had the Holyoke show...I was talking about May 10th at the House of Blues.

And then Fucked Up at the Sinclair July 14, but looks like those tickets aren't on sale yet.

The Ergs! and the Copyrights are both probably out. Cobra Lounge on June 23rd. Unlikely anyway, but still.

This isn't any of you thankfully, but god some Riot attendees on the subreddit talking about how they know no one on the Lolla lineup and how Dua Lipa isn't worthy of being a headliner/billed above Green Day lol

The way that festival gets everyone triggered when they simply...do not have to comment on something that clearly does not interest them will forever be funny to me

Honestly, I'm surprised people are talking about that instead of how high up both Idles and Turnstile are billed. That's fucking wild. Or how cool it is to see Lolo and MM@TA on the bill. Or BlackStarKids being in the mix after the Riot performance last year. Or how the fuck Royal Blood is billed above Maneskin and Manchester Orchestra?

Green Day being billed "below" Dua Lipa makes logical sense at this point in time. There's far more interesting shit to talk about in that line-up, IMHO. Haha.

I saw BlackStarKids open for Beabadoobee last year and they were a little too much for me but it's very cool they are on Lolla and played Riot last year.

They've been speculated for a hot minute but those NYC dates add some fuel to the fire (unless those were already there and I missed 'em).

I could see them being a co-headline on Sunday or just below MCR or the Misfits on that particular day. I'm not sure they're pure headliner status now that they've played a bunch of shows, etc.

It would still be a great get for Riot but not just as hyped as it would have been had it happened a few years back when it was purportedly in the works as their first show back or whatever.

Bauhaus reuniting is very much a big deal, but (at least I don’t think) not as much of a “big deal” as when the OG Misfits or when Jawbreaker got back together. So I DO think Bauhaus will probably be on, but I DON’T think they’ll headline. At most, maybe co-headline
