I'm sure they'll be rotating order throughout the festival, but genuinely surprised Waterparks is top billed.

How are Waterparks that high up?

I don't think I've ever heard a Waterparks song before.

Weaker lineup than past years, but really cool to see Lolo on there. I've been obsessed with her music since I saw her open for NFG in October.

 

correct me if I’m wrong as I’m not totally into the current pop punk scene, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of overlapping fan bases with the bands here right?

 

Yeah that lineup is very meh. Waterparks and Neck Deep are awful. Mayday has been bland for a bit now. State Champs and Hot Mulligan are dope though. I wish this tour was a bit more extensive with its lineup and routing.

 

I think I’m becoming the Spotify numbers guy, but just because I find it be a curious stat:

Waterparks, Neck Deep, and Mayday Parade all have 2m ML’s and State Champs has 1m.

Waterparks also has the biggest management/label: 300 Entertainment which is like who does young thug and a bunch of big rap acts

 

The venn diagram of Neck Deep & State Champs fans is just a flat circle, and a decent portion of them probably also like Mayday or Waterparks. I think Hot Mulligan is the most out-of-place on the lineup though.

 

Also pretty wild how far the summer set has fallen over the years

 

I'll be 32 soon and I'm into 7/8 on my date, with the only exception being Waterparks. No clue what a pop-punk fan 15 years younger than me is into. Waterparks is huge, & their fans are fucking rabid, I'll be really sad if it's an alternating headliner & I have to sit through their set

 

Also Against the Current technically has the most Spotify monthly listeners out of the bunch with 4m, which proves that Spotify numbers don’t equal popularity

 

They were never that popular.

 

back in 2013, they were a main stage warped tour band

 

Genuinely curious, but why does it seem like it’s the same 5-6 pop punk bands play Sad Summer, or at least the same small pool being drawn from? At least with other festivals there’s at least *some* more variety each year.

 

Seems like this fest is for the current scene of pop punk/Alt Press bands as opposed to leaning on nostalgia

 

They spent that majority of that tour on the Tilly's Stage and got bumped up on occasion

 

Yup! I think it's cause they're on the League of Legends soundtrack

 

Who barely drew on that stage

 

I wish the summer set would do their own headlining tour

 

I like Waterparks but Im genuinly surprised they are headlining this. I would have swore Neck Deep and State Champs were bigger than them.

Also not Chicago again, bummer :(

 

Prices for Buffalo well Lewiston,NY. I'm guessing this is playing here since there's no Canadian show and they figure they'll draw from Ontario. I may hold out for a Groupon..
