Cool it on the condescension, not needed at all. People like all sorts of different things including preferences to how many posts per page... not that hard to understand.

 

LONG SHOT: i don't suppose anyone has a guitar tab for the re-recorded version of Brothers? i want to play the new lead parts in the chorus so bad but i can't work it out myself. i'm not holding out hope, but worth a try. Thanks!

Prediction: First night of tour, they'll be selling vinyl of LP5. It'll be sold just at the tour for a little while before going up on iTunes/Streaming services later in the Fall.

 

I wonder if anyone has heard it. Like, does K Dev drive around with it in his car, thinking "man, the rest of the world is missing out"?

 

Doubt it was even written, so no.

 

I really do think they have a ton of stuff written and maybe demoed I just falter in thinking they have a whole album recorded but I wanna believe

 

I think they've got an album. I think they're just being being picky about it. I'm willing to bet once this is all done we'll get comments from the band about how it "just needed to be perfect."

 

idk comments from the band imply they'd do press interview type stuff and they've done zero for this album besides like press releases from procrastinate!

 

Sucks to have nothing to talk about when it comes to BN lately. Sorry I didn't know what else to say.

 

If Brand New worked with a producer who wasn't Mike Sapone, who would you want it to be?
I like the idea of Steve Albini or Rob Schnapf for either going deeper into noise territory or taking them places they've never been to for a full album respectively. Or John Agnello...proggy, riff heavy Brand New? sounds sick

 

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm seeing them next month with The Front Bottoms (who is a top 5 current band for me) and I gotta say, my excitement level is pretty low. I've seen Brand New a LOT over the past few years, including three months ago so maybe that's why I'm not as excited as usual to go to a BN show because I JUST saw them but I really, really thought this time we'd have new material for the tour. Looking grim right now.

I'd be down for Matt Goldman, as he's produced quite a few bands that cite Devil & God as inspiration, so it'd be cool to see what he could do with the real thing.

 

I'm seeing them in October too and I share the same lack of excitement as you. They likely won't have an exciting set list that'll feature songs I haven't seen performed live before. Why did I even buy a ticket?! Why do I care?

 

I'm sure the week before the show I'll start fangirling out like a 10-year-old before Christmas, but this year had so much momentum for new Brand New and now my dreams are slowly crushing.
