Yeah, it’s doctor, but it’s one of those things where you can hear whichever one you’re listening for

I had a bunch of my friends over in high school to watch it and we had SO much fun lmao

 

This whole "dentist/doctor" thing was actually discussed with Deryck on his episode of Chris Demakes a Podcast.

There is definitely a slight but audible difference between the length of the 'sss' sound on Said on the album version and the music video. I forget which one is where, but my guess is somewhere in between preparing the two somebody noticed that extended S made 'doctor' sound like 'dentist' and shortened it ever so slightly. Hence, two versions are out there.

Just out of curiosity how well did that Coheed/Used coheadliner sell? It seemed like they were hitting some massive venues for their popularity, or maybe I'm just not aware as to how big they are.

 

I can hear Laurel & Yanny but somehow not dentist or doctor???

 

Coheed is a weird case where they don’t quite fill up those big summer sheds so most of them are like half- 2/3 full but the next level down venues they would pack quickly. So yea they don’t fill the places up but yes they are a big band.

 

And that's fine. A lot of people (not you) think that if bands don't sell these bigger venues out that the tour is a flop. Certainly there are cases where there's no one at the shows and the agent clearly aimed too high, but for a lot of these in-betweener acts, it's better to play to slightly undersold bigger venues than sell out smaller ones.

 

yep for the most part Coheed’s guarantee and tour package will cost the same at any venue. So yea more people at the bigger building for concessions, parking, merch etc is the way to go. Just cause some of those sheds can hold 25k-30k doesn’t mean drawing 10k there isn’t a huge success and money maker.
