Either way, most games I'm looking forward to don't come out until later this year.

hoping I can afford elden ring sooner rather than later but I’m also trying to get the Valhalla DLC coming out march 10 for 40 bucks.

The thing that bothers me a lot is the setup of the story/world. There's absolutely no sense of urgency or threat from Ganon at all. I love Zelda games because they put me up against interesting dungeons mastered by weird creatures and antagonists like Ganondorf or Zant. I like going on an epic adventure and this didn't have that for me.

Also, a game series that NEEDS to come back is Dark Cloud. At least they knew how to repair weapons.

I’m just curious as to what BOTW2 will bring upon the formula and being fully Switch dedicated

Constructive criticism is great and I welcome it to anything I love and adore, it just barely exists on this site lol.

I think the latter will not make a difference. I think it will add a little more "storytelling" to the BotW formula.

I have Dark Cloud 2 loaded on my PS5 right now.

I have started it like 3 times in my life and barely got into it but remember loving it.

using the botw1 systems should be an excellent starting point to make a sequel that brings back all the franchise things 1 was missing

That's what Forbidden West is basically.

A huge thing I am excited about is the improved melee combat in Horizon, that was my one huge gripe with Zero Dawn.

I hope not all, stripping all the video game legacy shit (I say this lovingly) away was what made it so fresh

Dark Cloud was one of my favorite games for PS2. Never played the sequel however.

Dark Cloud rules. I love games that mix RPG questing with town/world rebuilding. Quintet was also fantastic at making games like that.

I wish I had a 120fps TV and a Series X or any perspective regarding when I will have either. I feel so left behind. That’s probably why I only play Apex basically.

The first real dungeon or the starter one? The starter one is the sewers where you are fighting the Clown. That one is not difficult. The forest is pretty challenging if you don't grind a bit and upgrade your weapons.

The original has a better world building mechanic in my opinion where you could literally place things in the towns anywhere you wanted them and you had to fulfill people's wishes, but I think the dungeons and some of the weaponry are better in the second one.

it needs some more variation and intrigue. its got a very solid bread and butter gameplay but i think as a whole package it can be very dry in some aspects.
