A crime procedural I really enjoyed was Bones. Sure it was usually formulaic in ep structure, but I always found it pretty entertaining.

 

Law and order is great, a lot of bad takes in here.

 

I just can't seem to get into dramatic shows that go on for that long. 45 minutes of dramatic content, 20-24 episodes a season, it's so much. There are some exceptions like Breaking Bad but for the most part I stick to comedies on television.

i always thought they kinda just take real news articles and fictionalize them from there

 

yeah most of them are ripped from actual headlines

 

only about 50/50 for svu

 

If you didn’t watch 6 hours in a row of SVU on a Tuesday in college then I don’t trust you.

I'm looking for a new 30-min show to watch between dramas, I have too many hour plus shows that I need to break up between episodes.

We are showing 12 Angry Men to teach the kids about the judicial system and I didn't want to pay for the original version (a movie over 60 years old should be in the public domain), so I am showing the 1997 version. Pre-Sopranos Gandolfini is a juror and it makes the whole thing much more enjoyable. It was ruined when one of the kids called him Big Chungus though.

 

It’s a shockingly good remake. Made for TV and trying an ultimate classic again should not work so well, but they managed to get together just as impressive a cast as the original. Any time you can get Hume Cronyn and Gandolfini in a room together I won’t complain.

EDIT: Oh and it just came out on blu ray for the first time from Kino Lorber in case anyone is interested. I love the choices they’re making for releases lately.
