Live Nation knows what they are doing so this will likely be smoother than many are saying. Regardless of if they can pull this off successfully with all of those bands playing the same day, it does mean really short sets. Obviously festival sets are always trimmed to begin with but these are going to be really quick. Generally a festival like Riot Fest has almost this many bands spread out over 3 days and even there you will have to pick and choose. I would think WWWY would be more enjoyable for everyone if it were a 2 day event with each band playing once but its all about money and Live Nation just sold out twice as much as they would have it was a 2 day event.

I think the world is learning that emo kids are a passionate bunch, and want their normal juicy set lists they're used to hearing/seeing.

its much more common at hip hop festivals to see this many performers in a single day, because of the short set up time, and (in my opinion) normalized short set times. Maybe this is a miscalculation by live nation to use the hip hop festival model and not the coachella model for this many bands.

The lineup is cool, I just can’t see myself paying $250 (USD, so more like $315 for me) to stress myself out picking and choosing which bands to see 20 minute sets from. Honestly, maybe it’s just me, but logistically this sounds terrible to me lol

The amount of people thinking the logistics of this festival weren’t ironed out before announce astounds me. With rotating stages, the average set time is 30 mins. I’m sure the headliners will play for much longer, and some of the smaller bands will play for a little less to compensate.

Our scene loudly complaining about this festival is why we don’t get things like this. If you don’t want to go, don’t. The people who will are going to have a good time.

Yup and even if you went and planned out a schedule to maximize the bands you want to see, half of your time would be spent checking you watch. More stressful than enjoyable

It’s brilliant marketing by Live Nation and hopefully the bands get a good payday. The ticket prices including fees for a one day festival are crazy. $600 to attend both days is way too much and that’s the only way this would be worth attending for me to avoid missing band so want to see. That’s not even including hotel/flight costs. This is definitely a luxury experience compared to most festivals in this scene.

I do think this kind of thing has a short shelf life as there’s only so many bands still around in the scene and it could easily become stale. I could see it being a thing for 2-3 years though.

A few people in here sound personally offended by the memes and trolling going on. You can love these bands and still poke fun at this entire rollout. It’s going to be okay.

For me there’s an obvious attempt from the organizers to make this feel really genuine and put on by somebody who loves this music but you can’t escape the corporate sheen over it all. I can’t explain it. Of course, Live Nation is as corporate as things get. But I’m saying there’s just something more, an undercurrent of too-good-to-be-true going on.

What would y’all say the majority of these bands are getting paid?

...It's due time for me to catch Bayside again. Haven't seen them since they opened for Vendetta Red in like 2005 I think.

    Might be Spider-Man...

My cousin (17), told me there's a tiktok trend aimed at making Millenials feel "extra old"....I'm guessing that's what this is.

Exactly, the price itself isn't really an issue, it's just that I know for sure I'll be able to see maybe 25% of the bands I want to.

so many jaded people. a festival aimed at our demographic in a world where Warped Tour doesn't exist anymore? Awesome, let's fuckin' go and have a great time. Either go or don't.

Interesting that some bands like something corporate were completely looked. Someone asked Andrew about it on his Pillar message board and he said nobody had told them about it.

Yeah I'm definitely biased towards andrew's music but still seems like a huge miss for not adding them.

Makes sense as it’s the next available weekend date. Wouldn’t want to put day 3 on like a Monday

I figured it would be Sunday next, but I guess Sundays are tougher to get things together. This now makes me think that a 4th and final date will be announced on the 30th as well, once the 29th sells out

Exaclty, though it's not offensive or something, they couldn't make everyone happy. Also, Something Corporate deserve a more focused reunion show at some point.
