$250 is a lot for this when I assume it's basically a worse single day 2008 warped tour experience

If I was in vegas, and I had to choose between this and gambling, I'd pick gambling - and I hate gambling.

Now we know why it was billed as a single day event. Live Nation gets double the revenue this way and production costs for an additional day in the same location with no additional set-up or break-down are minimal.

I'm waiting for some of the bands to starts talking about, or addressing, how much of a disaster this seems to be. To them, it probably doesn't matter too much because they're just excited to hang out with all the bands from the scene they used to tour with back in the day and then play a breezy 20 min set.

Maybe as we start getting to the actual show date we'll see some bands drop out or something. Something has to happen, right??

    Things have changed.

Why do the bands care? They're doing what they signed up for and getting paid well.

A second date still doesn’t address the logistic issues of everyone basically having 20ish minute sets.

So I’m supposed to spend double the money to catch 1/2 of The Starting Lines set on Saturday just so I can see them finish the last 1/2 on Sunday? Lol

How exactly do you think it is going to be a disaster? The people I've seen spouting this apparently have never been to a festival before where sets vary in length and there are always going to be clashes.

This is not confusing. See how on the second poster the first day is crossed out? It's because it was sold out. Now they're giving people who missed the first sale an opportunity to watch the same show the following day.

All of the bands know exactly what they were signing up for.

    Give what you can.

If I signed a contract to work a job for an hour and my boss told me I actually only have to work for 20-30 minutes but I still get paid for an hour... I'd be so fucking pis... oh wait no nevermind that'd be awesome.

Senses Fail didn’t even know they were on this. That seems sketch.

From what I've seen, it sounds like bands weren't given the exact details of this and were told it was some sort of show in Vegas on this date. I still think this is going to be a disaster but I understand why Live Nation would want to keep details from leaking.

If anything, I think bands are getting tired of hearing people say this is Fyre Fest 2.0

Livenation has put on concerts of similar size that are 1 day events before.

I've seen some people painting a catastrophic picture over this fest, comparing this to Fyre Festival. There's a lot less complexity here - not on an island, not providing lodging, not responsible for regular meals + whatever the hell else they were claiming would be there.

I have no doubt that, operationally, this will function like a normal festival. At the end of the day, this will be the emulated warped tour experience but for 250+ dollars.

Yeah I listen to Shane from Silverstein's podcast and he says he thinks the venue holds like 80K so this math seems accurate.

He also said basically the only thing they were told was that it was a festival in Vegas with My Chem and then said Yes immediately haha

    Things have changed.

People actively want this to be a disaster and for people to get hurt just so they can say "I told you so" – brain rot is real in 2022.

    Might be Spider-Man...

I feel like this thing should be over two days, cut in half. All those bands in one day is insane.

Why is this festival out of the very many that Live Nation promotes expected to be a disaster. There are butt-rock festivals all over the country that do 60-70k people a day that never have any substantial issues.

It's really weird how Gen Z tik-tokkers have so much to say about this particular festival, based in absolutely... nothing
