I'm getting wild with a face mask as well. My sunburn started peeling in a few places so I want to rejuvenate my face a little bit.

I was going to do a mask earlier today, but apparently I'm out. A friend left a bunch of random packaged ones here and I used them over a couple months. Shit is refreshing.

My dad got me a tabletop vanity mirror from Ikea. One that has a light around it and you flip it over and it magnifies. It's the best/worst thing ever. It's so handy but it shows every clogged pore and blackhead I never knew I had :worried:

Lately washing my hair has been a pain. My hair doesn't usually tangle but it has been lately so I have to spend a lot of time in the shower detangling underneath the back. I wish something could make my hair less frizzy and actually soft. My hair so thick and coarse. I'm jealous of people with soft glossy hair.

Also I have two ltd edition lipsticks from the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani collection and I lost them both :brokenheart:

My skin is in disarray tbh! I tried out a charcoal facewash cause I like my charcoal face mask but my face is still broken out, now it's just broken out and dry too. Which is kinda miraculous cause my skin is normally super oily and I moisturize twice a day, but it is like the Sahara desert up in here. I used gentle exfoliator and that helped with the dry patches but the acne remains. A few months ago my skin was so clear. idk what is triggering this. I had to break out my heavy duty coverage Kat Von D foundation today. I went makeup-free for like a month and there was no difference. I wash my pillowcases and my makeup brushes often. idek.

I switched all my products to cruelty free and i haven't found a foundation that isnt shit on me. suggestions ( i dont want to spend a lot of money)? also finding cruelty deodorant that actually works has been a real task too.

@thesoftskeleton have you tried nyx? i think they're one of the best affordable cruelty-free brands if they have your skin tone (they don't have a large range)

Yes, I love Nyx for a lot of different products but i havent tried their foundation for whatever reason. I feel like maybe the skin tone thing stopped me from the past from getting it because i went NYX crazy when i switched over and surprises me i didnt try the foundation. I forget why i didnt get it but maybe i'll give it another look at the store. I really like Milani foundation but the lightest shade is soooo dark/orange on me.

    Hey all,

I'm a budding dermatologist (like, literally I just found out a week ago that I got accepted into one of the best residency programs in the country). I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have about skin care, skin health, medications, or over the counter products. If you're suddenly breaking out, a weird rash showed up, a spot on your nail, or patches of hair are falling out...feel free to ask or PM me.

As a disclaimer, my advice is just that, advice. I can't make any legal clinical diagnoses and if I think something is worth seeing a dermatologist in person for, I'll let you know. My experience is almost entirely clinical and based on interactions with patients. Outside of showering with whatever soap is cheapest at the store, I do absolutely nothing for my own skin care haha.

I was wondering when you'd pop in here!

I decided that despite my love of makeup, it is a tiny bit evil. I effectively cover the acne every day and so it tricks my brain into thinking my skin is clearing up. Then I take it off and I'm like aaaaahhhh make it stop!!! I honestly can't think of what it could be to freak my skin out this much because I haven't made big changes and I've been eating better too. I'm back on bc and I thought that would help but it hasn't.

I was happy to see this thread going strong!

Obviously do whatever works to keep you happy. I've def seen a few girls in their mid-20s where getting off or on bc has changed their acne. We generally wait 6 months on the bc and if that doesn't work, we add in a benzoyl peroxide wash with some kind of antibiotic. If that's to no avail, in 3 months we'll step up to a retinoid (assuming she's not pregnant/looking to get pregnant). Retinoids are the best.

hmmm, maybe I should be more patient with the bc then. I was off it for 3 months or so but it was long enough to throw things out of wack. It's honestly the only thing I can think of that would've caused it, but maybe it wasn't? I literally went from the most perfect clear skin one day, to an abomination the next. There was like no warning or gradual thing lol, and I've been dealing with it for a few months now. It's a bummer waking up and dreading looking in the mirror to see what new breakouts might be there. Anyway I'll stop whining lol. I just miss my skin!

I kind of just went on a restock spree. I have sensitive combination/dry skin (only oily on my nose, a tiny bit on my forehead, rest of my face can sometimes get flaky) with mild rosacea and a very rough texture, especially on my forehead. I don't physically exfoliate unless I'm in dire need. Mostly my concern is the texture and retaining moisture, and since I'm in my late 20's now, I've been upping the attention to "anti-aging" type of care.

    I recently purchased:
Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence (My skin seems to really like korean snail product. I've noticed it becoming brighter and smoother in the cheeks since starting to use it)
    Olay Regenerting & Moisturizing Serum
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Exfoliating Gel
    Cerave Moisturizing Cream
    Mediheal Collagen Impact Masks

Right now I'm on the hunt for a cleanser that doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I've tried both Cetephil and Cerave's cream cleansers and even those leave my skin with a sort of "squeaky" clean feeling. I'm going to give this oil cleanser a try but if anyone has any suggestion for a gentle, hydrating cleanser or what I can try to improve the texture of my skin, that would be great.

Oh maybe you (@Alexa) can help me out! Do you know of any inexpensive product I could use to help get rid of dark circles around my eyes, or do I just need to try and get more sleep? I don't really wear make-up, so I guess I'm asking about eye masks or creams or gels like what you mentioned above

  22. I haven't personally used this, but I hear a lot of praise about this product/line. A concealer like this would also help on days when you need some extra coverage.

If I don't wear any make-up will it look weird though? I typically don't wear anything on my face at all

  24. I feel like it wouldn't since it's just the under eye area and it's not a cakey formula. I've definitely run out of the house with just concealer on in a few spots and looked fine.

Is it that time already??? I've been deleting all my sephora emails without reading them cause I'm broke lol. Well darn. Bye, money! I definitely have to get a new NARS matte pencil in cruella. Mine is almost out. Dang. I'm gonna have to do some research beforehand. I try to be methodical. Research raved about products, throw ton of things into my Loves, and then research those and whittle it down to a reasonable amount of items.
