If it's Fallout level RPG elements, i'm all the fuck in. If it's a couple upgrades for your gun after killing enough things, meh.

 

Apex Legends is a rogue and an RPG and a FPS

 

Today really is the day of git gut round here lol

 

I loved The Outer Worlds and Fallout 4. Halo was fun because of the open world and collectibles for upgrades but it just wasn't implemented enough for me.


Believe me, I don't think i'm in the right or know better than anyone, i'm just stating facts on how I feel about genres haha. I'm in the minority for sure and

Speaking of Halo, I think I'm done with the Infinite campaign. After making it through ten chapters, it's doing next to nothing for me at this point. Kinda bored of completing FOBs, clearing forts, and the main story isn't doing much for me. The world is big and looks beautiful, but there's not much there and feels hollow. I just think the Halo campaigns are not for me. I still play the MP sometimes, though.

Might try the Mass Effect trilogy just to give me a reason to use the xbox right now.

Testing positive for Covid gave me plenty of time to beat Dark Souls. While it was definitely a difficult game, after learning the combat and mechanics it felt fair. Amazing game, only one boss fight drove me insane. I’m definitely a fan now of that “genre” or whatever you call it. Now I have no motivation to play through anything else that I have, Metroid has been sitting unopened for over a month. I only have a Switch at the moment so playing any other Dark Souls is unfortunately impossible until I can get a PS5.

 

idk how you can play, some examples here, doom eternal, the bioshock games, a cod game for good measure, borderlands games, fallout games, halo games, far cry games, and any other games like outer worlds, deathloop, etc. etc. and say yep all these games are exactly the same

 

I rushed through the infinite story because I knew if I spent too long in that world the cracks would start to show, I put in my 10-12 hours and got out

 

Haha I don't think they are all exactly the same but I know if I play all of them i'm going to run, hide for cover and shoot things then rinse/repeat.

It's a redundancy I just never could fully enjoy. I honestly envy those that do, there is such a huge plethora of FPS games out there that are well made.

Do I like some redundant shit in games? Fuck yeah, but the FPS ones ain't for me.

All you do in video games is press the same buttons over and over again on a controller. Not a fan of redundancy? The hypocrisy!

 

I’ve had the itch to play another souls game lately and want to start DS3 but I keep talking myself out of it because I’m waiting for Elden Ring and get burnt out trying to play those style games back to back.

 

Fair for sure especially since we’re so close to Elden Ring now, that’s why I’m not starting another now as well

nope. I'll play Halo every once in a while, but Destiny is really the only game I play.
