I wasn't there but apparently last night the lead singer of Knuckle Puck said regarding Omicron at their rescheduled Chicago show, "don't be scared of Omicron. I had it, it's not that bad"

The point isn't whether Omicron is bad or not, it's that it's overwhelming society right now and tons of people are getting it and spreading it to others who then have to alter their lives as a result. That's why bands are cancelling tours and shows...so they don't contribute to the spread of the virus/Omicron...

Im surprised they didnt cancel the show, specially because all their original opening bands got covid and they had to find last minute replacements

Yeah, this is kind of blowing my mind. I may have seen Bayside more than any other band in the past 20 years and have never had an experience where I’ve had to think twice about. Headlining or opening. Bizarre.

I can’t ever recall ever being at a show where I’ve felt unsafe or anything but annoyed? Multiple Manchester Orchestra/Andy Hull shows. Talk about fans who want to hoot and holler during quiet parts or just be outright rude. Almost every MO/Andy Hull show I’ve ever seen.

Oh yeah another bad crowd was Where’s the Band with Anthony Raneri, Ace Enders, Chris Connelly and Evan from IIOI. Nothing but drunk Bros yelling requests for the three headliners and talking over Evans entire set.

I see that kind of crowd everytime I go to a show in a college town

Yea, i wish you guys would say where you saw shows as well as the band, as i think the local demographic probably plays in to the behavior, as much as the band (ie college areas / downtown venus = more impetus on drinking and being rowdy). Ive seen a lot of the bands mentioned and didnt experience, see or hear, the bad behavior described.

The worst crowds are for someone like Good Charlotte or Simple Plan when they have non-nostalgia band openers. They draw a lot of people who have never been to a pop punk show. Four Year Strong and The Story So Far opened for Good Charlotte and it was terrible. All these bros trying to defend their girl friends because the crowd surged from a pit. Awful.

I saw Modest Mouse back in 2007 or 2008 in Orlando and it was one of the worst frat boy audiences I’ve been to. This group of bro dudes the whole time kept shouting to play Float On, eventually starting flicking cigarettes at Isaac because he was telling them to shut up, he threatened to fight them, and they ended their set early with no encore.

Taking Back Sunday's TAYF/WYWTB anniversary tour in 2019's crowd was also absolutely insufferable.

That’s funny because I can’t think of a Modest Mouse fan that’d fit that bro demographic

I wouldn’t consider those frat dudes “fans”, just some dudes who heard Float On on a car commercial probably haha

    idk man

All Time Low might go down as one of my least favorite crowd experiences of recent memory. I saw them in New York last year and the fans were rude to just about everyone from the people in the crowd to the opening bands.

I'll echo this I guess. Riot Fest last year had this weird "bro" crowd that I didn't see for any band other than Bayside

Bayside crowds are weird because half the crowd is very bro-ey, loves to mosh/crowdsurf, and the other half is very serious and doesn't want any part of it. It's a funny, weird duality.

LOL that reminds me a few weeks ago at the Rise Against holiday show in Chicago in the middle of the show some super edgy guy and his GF decided it's totally fine to just go around me and stand right in front of me to the point where I couldn't see anything. When I say "edgy" I mean it, she had a hat that just said "fuck" and they were just obnoxious. I said to my friend that I'm going to give them until the end of this song (It was "Swing Life Away") and if they don't move tf back I will make them. The song ended and they were still there so I did the exact same thing they did to me and stood right in front of them. 10 seconds later I looked back and they were gone.

I've seen Bayside like 3 times intentionally & probably 20 times unintentionally all over the East Coast from Boston to Tampa & haven't noticed their fanbase being shitty, but next time I see them I will definitely keep that in mind.

I can't recall any fanbases that were just outright horrible, outside of Pennywise the one time I saw them at Warped Tour in Charlotte. They seemed to choose violence just for the sake of violence
