Yeah I was going to have a BRO DATE to the Thursday/cursive/Appleseed cast show. Might have to just stay home and jam records instead

It won't be this wave but, eventually, if these variants start becoming more and more mild, I think we'll just need to push through. I know it's anecdotal but everyone I've spoken to who've caught this in the past week or so have reported very mild symptoms and have noted that, pre-COVID, they often went out and about when they were feeling worse than they were now (i.e. had a sever cold at the time).

Very much anecdotal here also, but 3 people in my extended family tested positive for omicron in the last week (fortunately, I haven’t been around any of them), two of whom have yet to receive their booster and one of whom did a couple of weeks ago, but they all just have very mild symptoms. Seems to be the case for the large majority of people currently infected in my province

Of course it’s still shit it’s spreading at the rate it is and that people are getting sick at all, but we definitely seem to be better of now than we did a year ago, which is a positive I’ll take at this point

I feel like as long as there us a vaccine that works (kinda works?) they will try and push that harder instead of closing up events. From what I've seen, all recent cancellations were decided by the artists or the venue.

  7. Fully agreed here.

I’d say I’ve been, both practically and politically, in a highly-cautious camp throughout the pandemic, mostly because of some high risk people in my life.

But with Omicron, I’m seeing the community of highly-cautious people fracture a bit over how much stock to put in “mild” cases. (Me personally — I understand where the “mild just means you didn’t go to the hospital” crowd is coming from, but I think the assertion is intentionally misleading and fearmonger-y. Still haven’t figured out if I feel it’s wrong to say.)

2022 will see Covid continue or complete its journey to being treated as Basically the Flu, and I’m just really worried about what’s going to happen to high-risk people who will surely be left behind.

Well, I tested positive today, although I have no symptoms at all

I’m not saying vaccinations are full proof and I know being vaccinated I still run a risk of getting sick / spreading it if I get it BUT my girlfriend works retail, she wears a mask all day at work and all holiday season her co-workers have been getting Covid and some are vaccinated I believe and some that got sick aren’t but she is and she hasn’t gotten sick. Not championing not having more regulations but she said the other day: “I guess that they do work.” Which me both believed they did anyways. Just go to see some reassurance in my personal life. Just as the last two years I wish more people would realize this!

I’m vaccinated, and boosted, still got Delta. I’m a lot better now… but it sucks. Still can’t taste or smell

Like... anything? I don't get how no one has had it in my family. Outside of my 3 year old, we're all vaxxed (adults boosted) and given my work environment and what not it's kind of a miracle. Still wear masks inside though.

I’m sorry to hear your got the delta. I was in no way, shape or form suggesting being vaccinated and having the booster is full proof and you can’t get the delta or any other variant. I was just stating that I believe she hasn’t gotten it this holiday season because she is vaccinated.

Hope you’re doing okay and the taste and smell come back soon.

Fully vaccinated people are getting Covid.

Fully vaccinated + boosted people are getting Covid.

People who have recovered from Covid are getting Covid again.

I’m happy she didn’t, it will eventually. I’m dropping much needed weight so that is a huge plus.

Ehh. If you aren't there just to get fucked up and be there for the gram, most major music festivals are very fun. The price isn't much different than 4 days at DisneyWorld/Land or a 4 day vacation somewhere.

I haven't been to Coachella or Bonnaroo but they are on my bucket list to attend one day.

Tell me you've never been on a 4 day trip to any Disney park without telling me you never been on a 4 day trip to a Disney park.

No music fest (tix/food/merch/drinks/lodging) comes close to what a 4 day trip costs.

Depends. I've done both countless times. And if you are just going with just like one person and stay off property both fests and disney are usually about a grand when all costs are done

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I did two days of Disney and two days of Universal this year, and let me tell you, I'm still digging myself out of that hole all things considered.

Say what you will about music festivals (they suck), but I didn't pay $18 for a bottle of sunscreen at Riot Fest.
