Yeah, I don’t know that I’ve seen anything that makes me think grifter yet. And I applaud people running to the left in any race they can.

But I also might be biased because I donated to her house campaign super early and she called me and spoke with me for like 30 minutes about Medicare for all and student loan cancellation.

I’m a sucker for that sort of thing lol

 

I think I would buy any president plausibly being unaware of a meme like Let's Go Brandon. If they don't browse social or watch cable news (which would be reasonable) someone would have to actually tell them about it, and why bother?

 

ugh my sister in law just tested positive after testing before coming down. we drove to florida with their mom, who has been sharing a room with my sister in law.

Merry Christmas to everyone in this thread! Another Christmas with covid still ripping through but I think it is pretty clear we are in a much better position this year thanks to the vaccines than last.

Went out to dinner with my parents and sister last night (let's hope my booster was able to protect me). Usually go to midnight mass but watched it online again this year instead of going to church because I am sure it would have been packed. Going to my aunt's house today, will be about 15 of us and I think everyone is vaccinated.

 

So my wife’s pcr test on the 22nd came back negative, mine on the 23rd came back negative, at least according to the text we get from the lab that does them for the state. But then the Delaware division of public health just called my wife to tell her she’s actually positive. She is symptomless. We’re so confused, but turned the car around and going home instead of going to New York to see her family

 

I’m glad I’m not at my dad’s house. My brother texted me and said he’s wearing a Trump hat.

 

I self isolated for a whole week, even skipped Christmas at the in-laws, to make sure that I don’t get my dad sick and we can have a nice and quiet Christmas while my brother and his girlfriend were living their best life, going to restaurants and partying.

i feel so monumentally stupid.

 

Tell me those two people haven’t been to at least one Get Out garden party.

I went to a family gathering today and one of my cousins showed up even though she said her husband was sick. Apparently he had a fever the other day and now has some congestion. He didn’t get tested so it isn’t confirmed COVID, and she doesn’t have any symptoms, but her still showing up just doesn’t seem right to me.

Hopefully everything is fine but maybe I’ll get tested in a few days to be sure, certainly will if I develop any symptoms.

 

I found a drive through testing place near me that’s super easy and quick. I’ll probably go once a week for the next month or so.

 

Things are going to explode in two weeks or so. Even the cautious people are know are getting covid or are telling me they were around someone with covid over the last couple of days. New Years will certainly not help.

 

Yeah I think cases are going to be astronomical going into the new year. The good news is that hospitalizations and deaths should still likely be much less than what they were last winter thanks to the vaccines and initial indications that omicron overall gives milder infections.

It’s business as usual in many places when last year there were still things like capacity limits and mask mandates. But again obviously the vaccination rates are a key difference this year.
