I have faith they have another fantastic album in them. TYFT is great and The Blue EP is even better, and I agree their live shows have been killer last few years. Would love for their next album to take some risks.

 

The Blue EP is some of their best work in recent years. Can't wait to hear what they put out next!

 

Narrow Stairs was the last full LP for me that felt really inspired, but The Blue EP gives me hope since every track is great.

 

I thought TYFT was a strong bounce back from Codes and Kintsugi. Not a classic, but it was consistent with two especially great highs (Summer Years and Your Hurricane).
Kintsugi kicks off with a VERY strong 5 song run, but then is followed by some of the most forgettable Death Cab material.

 

I think the back half of Kintsugi is better than the back half of TYFT. The Blue EP is probably my least favourite release of theirs.

 

TYFT songs are wonderful live, the album is gorgeous

Sounds a lot like the format of Song Exploder which means I'm in.

 

I love that podcast and this is definitely in that realm. I think I like that these live streams are usually only available for 24 hours and then it’s gone. Some you can only watch live. Nothing gets archived (which is a bummer).

 

ugh, where are the Christmas songs for people who hate Christmas??

 

a friend made a *killer* playlist of Christmas/Winter-related songs that is the only thing i can listen to this time of year because i can’t stand the vast majority of classic Christmas songs/Christmas in general lol
