Can't you just go to an urgent care and get a test? All of the UC's in the WNY region offer testing with no waiting. Is this not available nationwide?

My job just announced we are going back to a hybrid schedule of 2 days a week in the office until at least January 10th. I believe they said this applies to all NJ state agencies.

 

Definitely not like that here. You can get a test at urgent care but you’ll have to wait in a room with other sick people for hours. And you have to pay for it if you don’t have insurance or insurance won’t cover it

 

I have heard that you can still get a test at an urgent care, but as Victor said it is a long wait and you will be around other sick people. And then there is the delay for results from labs being backed up. A lot of people need to know their results quickly to make a decision on travelling, going to work, etc. Big picture, not having good testing handicaps us and all but guarantees that we are going to exacerbate a surge that we are in as opposed to mitigate it.
