Guys....you keeping posting in this thread....and I keep thinking it leaked/got streamed. Playing with my heart. hahaha. After seeing the hype, I really want to hear this album(last few albums have felt phoned in/past their prime imo).

I think its part that but i also think they are a band that has fed off of hype cred by their own mega fans. I see a lot of people that have gotten into brand new because its pretty cool to like brand new. In england anyway. Theyve managed to keep their deja era fans coming back while bringing in new ones with their last 2 releases.

Theyre also a bit like Radiohead in that there is still a bit of mystery about them. They havent saturated themselves by being everywhere all of the time.

Sorry i am including The live videos of Holy Water.

I dont mean to be cynical but also part of the crowd draw may be because i think fans always think "this could be the last time". Ive got a ton of friends that want to go see them supporting Biffy on that basis but honestly i dont think theyd go out on a support tour even as soecial guests in arenas if they were about to pack it in. It seems a but like the support shows will be to draw new fans.

You never know with BN though.

I know they say it wont happen but still imagine the hysteria if they did a double header with TBS? Ive been to packed out club nighs that have just run with a BN vs TBS the e.

My prediction at the beginning of the year was that TBS and Brand New would either a.) do a co-headlining tour or show
b.) Jesse would join TBS on stage for a song at a show
c.) Adam or (more likely) John would join BN on stage for a song

It seems less likely now that this will happen but my thought process was that BN was clearing up loose ends, and I could see them closing the book on the "feud" in some way.

Plus I think part of all of them would love to see the Internet explode

I agree with the support shows point. Why would a band who says they're done in 2018 go on a support tour? It's also why I don't believe they'll really be done in 2018.

To your point about seeing them for the last time, I'm sure that has to do with some increased attendance, but I mean, we're talking about Brand New playing venues consistently that are 5,000 to 15,000 cap venues. They're headlining Wolstein Center in Cleveland next month, which is a 14,000 cap venue. TBS is playing the Agora Ballroom, which holds 500 people. Yeah, TBS says they're playing these small clubs for fun, but it's not sold out yet...

I mean, they just sold out the Metro in Chicago, which is like 1200 cap, in under an hour. They're not hurting to get people to come to shows

Point I originally made is the bands someone mentioned earlier would LOVE to sell out venues half the size Brand New have been playing last 3 years.

Not knocking TBS. I love TBS.

Thats interesting. Last time i saw TBS was on the Happiness tour in Manchester, UK. Im terrible with guessing venue sizes but i would say there was about 1500 people there. Only a bit smaller than some of the venues ive seen Brand New in recently. But hey, its not a competition is it. Im sure brand new could quite easily sell out wembley arena though.

Im sure ive read a couple of things recently.

1 was that TBs were rumoured to have asked BN about a tour and BN turned it down.
2 im sure Adam said on a tv interview here something along the lines of "hes just not a good person" in reference to Jesse.
3 but then you hear all this other stuff about water under the bridge.

the fact that it is 2016 and either of these bands still have to talk about this sucks. the past is the past.

Adam called Jesse an asshole or something pretty recently so I doubt a tour will happen.

Typically when TBS play CLE they play at house of blues which is a 1200 cap. Honestly, I haven't seen Brand New play less than a 2500 cap since 2011 and the last three years have been 5k and above. As earlier mentioned, next month in a 14k cap center.

I'm in no way playing favorites here, I was just making a point to someone's earlier statement that TBS was more of a staple in this scene than Brand New.

brand new plays WAY less shows a year than TBS remember. TBS is on tour probably 1/2 - 3/4 of the year. where Brand New probably goes on tour once a year, and there was awhile it was even less than that.

I think it's time we put the TBS Brand New comparisons to bed.

This, I have like 2 or 3 opportunities a year to see tbs, I would be lucky to see brand new once a year but I travel to see them so I actually see them 2-3 times a year

yeah i'm still gonna hold on to the pipe dream of tbs opening bn's last tour

I dont think Adam's ego would let TBS be the opening band. Your pipe-dream is more likely if they're co-headlining.

Yeah TBS is my favorite band but I can't see any way to justify them co-headlining at this point. It's undeniable that BN has a significantly bigger draw

Adam might have an ego, but at least he gives a shit about TBS fans. I actually kind of agree with him about Jesse being a dick. Brand New thinks it is okay to play with people's emotions and constantly change their mind about releasing music, and it kind of comes off as dickish in my opinion. Eventually it will get to a point where people will get tired of it and stop caring. With all that being said, I am forever thankful for Brand New's entire discography and the fact I have seen them live twice.

Edit: I forgot to say that I feel like Adam would be willing to open for them. He has an ego, but he is not dumb, and I think he knows who would draw more fans.

Bands. Don't. Owe. Anyone. Anything. Brand New fans aren't entitled to new music and while it would be a different story if they had announced something and not released it, they haven't. I don't think it's fair to call Jesse a dick for that.
