Every Time I Die - Radical (October 22, 2021) • Page 67

  1. Not gonna rank but I'm partial to New Junk and Ex Lives myself (probably because that's when I got into the band)

First show was them, Polar Bear Club, The Wonder Years, and Four Year Strong in my little hometown circa 2011? I went for PBC but came out an ETID fan.

I loved the days of early PBC. Cherished years of my younger self. Miss that band.

I don’t know if I think the newer albums top FPU or Hot Damn! for me, but there really is only one album that I only revisit 3 or 4 tracks from and that’s Ex-Lives. But those tracks are top tier too. Rest of the catalog is loved.

    FPU
    Ex-Lives
    Radical
    Gutter Phenomenon
    Low Teens
    The Big Dirty
    New Junk Aesthetic

Not gonna rank Hot Damn or LNIT cus I haven't really listened to either of them. The production and Keith's vocals of that era grate on me too hard for me to try and power through

  5. Hot Damn = Gutter = TBD = New Junk= Ex Lives = FPU = Low Teens = Radical

i think you’re actually late to it lol pretty sure it happened earlier. Usually happens about 12-24 hours after every album is released by any artist. Sometimes it just comes back around again like now lol

i'm used to it in the thrice and menzingers album threads during the doldrums between releases.

I have listened to Radical atleast once a day since it came out. Been a long time since I liked a "heavy" records this much.
Might be a little bloated, but unsure what I'd cut

Really not sure where I'd put Radical. I don't think it tops Low Teens, FPU or Big Dirty yet for me

Think I have to just let the back half grow on me a little more though. The first 10 on here are absolutely in line for their best songs though

that's why I'm not making one.

I have a god tier and an excellent tier, my ranking depends on the day.

My favorites are Hot Damn, Radical, Low Teens, Ex-Lives and Gutter Phenomenon. That's all I'm willing to put in writing. All the other albums have songs on them I consider essential.

  16. I still haven't gotten to anything before Ex Lives. I was worried their older albums wouldn't hold up, but seeing everyone's rankings, I'm excited to check them out.

its very cool that a band can be not only consistent but putting out arguably their best stuff late in their career!!

NJA was the first album I got into and at that point I didn't check out anything else, and since then I haven't pulled myself away from everything after to really check out the previous albums. I've heard bits. Listened to Big Dirty this a.m. and it's pretty on par with the excellence I'm familiar with. Not sure about Damn and Gutter cause I'm pretty not into the vocals but I'll try to give them a shot at some point.

Low Teens is far and away my favorite, beyond that, I think I'd have Radical and From Parts Unknown tied at second, with Ex Lives and New Junk falling behind that, and so on. I'm definitely one of the "later ETID is better" people. Not a huge fan of the early records.

OK, so a full listen of Dirty once each going to and from work, I can instantly tell this will slot in above Ex Lives for me. Could hop over NJA too. I'd say my faves were Rebel Without Applause, Despressionista and Pigs Is Pigs. Obviously they're one of those bands favorites can change weekly though

Having just gone through their entire discography, I feel pretty confident in saying Radical is their best. Which is just insane considering the quality of their previous albums. Might post a ranking with some thoughts on each later. For now I'll leave it at that.
