I have a pretty good sense of what my top 5 or so is going to be made up of, but will wait a bit to see if any surprise albums drop in the next couple weeks

OK so let's stir up some controversy, what was everyone's most disappointing albums of the year? For me this is artists I love releasing albums that I do not.

Kacey Musgraves, billie eilish, Jade Bird and Wet all lead the charge for me this year

feel like it’s easily solar power, at least compared to her last two. and I liked it more than most!

I guess Coldplay and Hayley Williams are the two artists I love who put out albums I don't.

Yeah comparatively I certainly agree there, but I do still like the album a fair amount so I left it off.

Julien Baker, for me. I've liked each of her albums significantly less than the one before it. This one just felt overcluttered and melodically lacking to me.

Runner-up is Foxing, which did nothing for me. I wasn't super into their early records, but the band won me over with Nearer My God, so I was looking forward to this one. But, tbh, I have trouble getting through this album.

@Craig Manning that's really interesting to me actually. I really don't like the first two Foxing albums, but when the lead up to this one started I gave them another try and was shocked that I liked the new music. This year I got into Nearer My God for the first time and am a big fan now, but I LOVE the newest album even more.

Yeah, I should probably give the new one another try. I've just found it extremely grating whenever I've listened to it.

It was about on par with NMG for me, some great stuff, some stuff I wasn't that into.

    hmmm

I definitely didn't like the new HTRK album as much as I expected to. Although I don't know how often I get really disappointed by records now... it's not as big a deal to me anymore if someone I like releases something I don't like.

oh YES Bleachers is absolutely my BIGGEST disappointment, how can I forget that (probably my brain making me forget it). A handful of really solid songs destroyed by some of the worst production I have heard in years

Lorde album was easily most disappointing for me.

  25. Clairo’s record is 1000% my biggest disappointment of the year

But also The Maine, Kacey Musgraves, Slow Crush, Lucy Dacus, Pink Siifu, and Hayley Williams all put out records that I liked considerably less than their previous ones, some of which I didn’t like at all
