How’d y’all get the Hayley tests?

Yeah I’m pretty sure members of this forum bought 95% of the copies, haha.

 

I don't understand how you determine which option on discogs you select? Like, aren't different pressings more valuable than others and how do you even determine or remember what pressing you have?

 

Newer records it’s pretty easy since you really just have to choose which color/variant you have. There’s also catalog numbers and matrix numbers etched on the vinyl itself. Older records can be harder. I went to add my dads copy of Moving Pictures and there’s like 128 versions lol.

 

I'd never really messed around with Discogs until catching up with this thread, but lemme tell ya- I definitely have my evening planned out now. I'm 22 deep out of 200+ and here's my top ones so far. Props to my sister for getting me that Avett Bros record for Christmas a few years back.

 

If it's an older record or something with a ton of variations (colors, represses, etc) they list them individually and sometimes you have to do some digging in the liner notes to find specific date/label/catalogue #'s. Here's a shot of some search results for Dude Ranch that shows just a handful of the variations:

 

It can take a bit of research. Still not sure I have all my Springsteen singles right, haha.
