Nobody watching all of this Elden Ring footage being showcased? Lots of streamers/publications have been given a lot of time to play the network test.

Supposedly the Elden Ring network test is the first 1/6 of the game. Really surprised they would show that much off. Looks fucking incredible though, gona try to put the blinders on now

 

Yeah i've watched enough and am so so hyped now, it looks like everything I wanted it to be.

 

Been avoiding all Elden Ring coverage since the first trailer because Im afraid Ill get too hyped and my quality of life will suffer.

Its happened before.

 

Player's Log.

I started playing Horace. It's a retro side-scrolling mix of Metroidvania, precision platformer, and puzzle platformer. Like if Super Meat Boy was a Metroidvania, although that's not really entirely accurate.

It's a lot of fun so far though, and the story is compelling. You play the titular Horace, a LEGO-looking robot built for vague reasons, and... a lot of things happen to him. I don't really know how to explain much else without spoiling parts of the plot.

Beyond the overarching plot, Horace also has a personal goal he was given by his creator, to clean a million items. In this case, clean means collect, so while you're platforming, you're also stopping to pick up random pieces of junk. As a plot point, it's adorable when he tells everyone he meets about his quest. As a plot coupon, it's a little annoying to have to collect junk while trying to run from a moving current of water, but (shrugs).

Anyway, the only real complaint I have so far is that the first major item you get are boots that let you walk on any surface. The problem is that they will activate automatically when you're near a surface, so if you jump too high, you can find yourself walking on the ceiling when you don't want to. It gets a little disorienting, which is not good when you're deliberately trying to avoid deathtraps.

Started Forza 5 on release day. Not really into racing game, but it's beautiful and well made. Not sure if I will stick around. I just want to free roam and get new cars instead of race lol
