He's changed his tune on that. The new AVA album is produced by Aaron Rubin, and every song has co-writing credits with Aaron and bandmates Matt and Illan.

I mean Tom has always been like that with Jerry Finn, Critter, and now Aaron like you mentioned. I was under the impression he didn’t want to go the route of having entire teams of songwriters and producers like on Nine and a few tracks on California. Also producers who are in sync with the same vision, which I think was a clash with Tom and Feldman.

Tom and Feldman def couldn't work well together. And Nine is the best thing Feldman did since the first two Used albums. I like Lifeforms a good amount but still want Tom's lyrics nowhere near blink

People can trash Tom's AVA lyrics all they want, but nothing gets worse than the lyrics on California. I cringe every time I hear "take your eyes off the floor. I lost my head on the door."

  6. And keep Matt in the mix too. The 4 of them would probably blow our minds, if they all wrote and recorded in the same room.

Personally I wouldn’t want Tom and Matt in blink at the same time. Keep it the classic 3.

Idk why the foursome thing ever gets thrown out there. Tom would never come back and play with his replacement. Not in a billion years lol

  9. I’d hope he would though. He’s been a big Skiba fan for a long time. I think Tom and Matt would write some really cool shit together, personally. Haha

If traveling to parallel universes were a thing, I'd travel to the one where Blink didn't break up that first time and kept making new albums. I'd LOVE to hear what a 2006 and 2009/10 Blink album would've sounded like. In this timeline, I'd also be cool with the side projects existing so each member could get their creative itches scratched and bring what they learned back to Blink. Win-Win for everyone with no bad feelings or vibes between the bandmates.

I think Tom would be much more open to studio work with Matt involved versus playing on stage with him. Studio yes, live shows no.

  12. Why should Mark have to sacrifice what he wants to do? That’s … ridiculous.

Meh if they hadn't stopped the first time it just would've progressed further into Tom's sounds with him dominating the record and Untitled would've been impossible to follow really. I'd rather have the +44 album in all honesty, especially since it's probably Mark's best writing

The "blink album every five years, tour every two years" timeline is basically exactly why Tom was booted in the first place? Lol

he can do whatever he wants. This is just my idealized vision of the band’s future as a fan

  17. And millions of fans, and him, should bow to it even though that's not what they, or most of the band members want? I don't get it.

Tbh I don’t think the post by @clockwise on this site will have any bearing on what Mark does. I think we can all speculate and post about what we want as fans just for conversation.

  19. Ok. Then, tbh, I’m on team I want the band members to be happy and think wishing the opposite is shitty.

Personally I think it's the opposite haha. Tom doesn't seem to like too many other collaborators when writing songs, but if they played with Matt he could be lazier live and have an excuse lol

All hypothetical because no chance in hell would Tom come back if Matt was still there

Tom doesn’t seem to like too many collaborators except he’ll pay Ilan to pretty much write all his music for the last decade lol

I think a Blink tour with the four of them would be easy money and probably the best they would sound live in a long while. Blink needs a second guitarist live.

I remember Tom being against it but it’s something that they have lacked since they started using a ton of overdubs and guitar layers and then live is just one guitar.

on the Untitled era the fact that Tom had an amazing guitar tone helped at least
