I feel that if you ever wanted to explain to someone who doesn't know what elements of Reddit or the alt right is wrong and worth fighting against, all you'd have to do is give someone a compilation of Anne Coulter clips and state they are a collective of people just like her.

Apparently, Coulter had no idea what a roast was. Also, she bombed really hard -- the video of that is pretty great, but I can't find it.

 

Tony Hinchcliffe is a writer for the roasts, including this one, and he stated on Joe Rogan's podcast that she flat out refused any help with writing jokes. She may not have known exactly what it was when she signed up, but she knew well before they started filming. She was horrible, it was painful to watch.

 

Yeah, I read that, too. She also refused to watch any past roasts. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

 

I'm sure she's a nice enough woman outside of her political views. She wasn't visibly frazzled at any point so she obviously has tough skin. But she didn't really laugh either; chuckled a couple of times but that was it.

Could have been hilarious, but that room hated her regardless if she was funny or not.

 

Her views disqualify her from being a nice person from the jump.

This is not unlike leading a newscast with a weather report, or a story about firefighters pulling a kitten out of a tree, in the midst of an ongoing national emergency. As Greenwald argues, journalists shouldn’t treat Clinton and Trump’s “various sins and transgressions as equivalent: nothing in the campaign compares to Trump’s deport-11-million-people or ban-all-Muslim policies, or his attacks on a judge for his Mexican ethnicity, etc.” But news consumers gauge the relative importance of stories through their framing, and the weight news outlets place on them. Last week, a casual news consumer wouldn’t have come away thinking Clinton’s and Trump’s sins were equivalent; they would have instead learned that Clinton’s sins were real and Trump’s trivial or non-existent.

 

30 minutes to talk about foreign policy. I'm glad the first 3rd was all about emails.

I couldn't care less about these obvious tweets. Matt Lauer was never a good interviewer. He keeps letting Trump lie and avoid questions.

 

"Take the oil" is the stupidest answer to the question "How can we stabilize the Middle East?" that I've ever heard.

 

This is an embarrassment.
