Ya I mean I’m glad they’re an option but it’s just hard to pull off. It would be nice if there was a cheaper option for 2 people or something

 

Yeah to be clear I don't necessarily have an issue with them happening, I just don't like how much they are charging during these times. A ticket option for those without cars would be nice too.

 

Currently doing a lil AMA on Instagram. Music related stuff so far:

- they have 13 or 14 songs written and demoed, and will be tracking them in Texas “soon”

- none of the demos have live drums on them yet, which they’ve never done before. and they’ve been messing around with samples a lot more. could be reading into that more than he meant, but maybe we’re gonna get some beat programming or something a la newer hovvdy stuff?

- they’ve apparently been really into tracking demos while dancing to a disco light lol, which is only worth mentioning cause it might indicate the new stuff being a lot more dance-y?

- vocals on the new stuff are not all falsetto like they usually are

 

I’m ready for all of that

 

Been listening to this on repeat all afternoon. I love the whole thing, but the back half is especially great.

 

Great summer record

 

They just announced a run in Chicago in December.

It’s a stripped down set, all the old songs are played with acoustic and keys. Played about 7 or 8 new ones with percussion backing tracks, full set was about an hour and 20 minutes. Sounds very r&b influenced compared to the past two albums, I’m really excited for it.

 

last time I saw them there were 11 on stage. 7 from the band and the a full quartet all centered around Julien.

excited for the R&B.

 

there was no drum on stage last night and played a ton of new songs, which is why I think they made the show phone-less. they played everything else way more stripped back than normal, it was really something.

new songs sound like Whitney but with a little
more electronic samples and flourishes. I cannot wait.
