If I go to the theater with friends/family and they pick movies apart, I never go with them again. Not worth the aggravation

I loved the kills in this movie, and that was enough for me. My only complaint about the kills is that they showed the firefighter scene in the trailer. That's one of the coolest scenes in a slasher ever, and I wish I would've seen it for the first time in the theater. Besides that, this film brought it, and I'm stoked for the next one.

You ever watch The Raid: Redemption? I think that is the first time I saw one of those and its still the most effective one I've seen.

  3. I haven't, but I've heard great things about the series and it's on my list for after October!

You are in for a treat. I always recommend people watch that and Dredd around the same time. Their plots are pretty much identical but take radically different approaches to over the top violence.

Isn't the end credits song Ghost? I didn't pay attention either time I saw it but I saw people saying it was I think

That’s the first Ghost song I’ve ever heard. That was not what I was expecting. I really thought they were a death metal band.

They're a hard band to pin down, but I think of them of a cross between a Satanic church and a Hammer horror film.

EDIT: I just read someone describe them as "spooky rock music by Scooby Doo villains" and that is perfect.

  13. Man...the more I think about this movie, the more bummed out I am. That RLM video didn't help. I think I'm gonna watch the movie a second time this weekend and write my own treatment to try and fix some of the story issues for shits and gigs.

I've never watched one of those. Never really gotten into YouTube criticism

They're one of the only ones worth watching. Would put them on another level than "youtube criticism", tbf

Yeah even if I find myself disagreeing with them (not in this instance), their critiques are rarely unfounded and almost always funny.

I showed my wife the first 15 minutes or so just as an excuse to geek out over the flashback stuff again. Super well done, imo.

  18. I should clarify that I enjoy RLM even when I disagree with them, the video just kinda hammered home some points I've been thinking about that bummed me out even though I had a good time watching the movie

I've come back to loving RLM again. They got really annoying during "Ghostbusters (2016)" and the "Star Wars" stuff.

Honestly really enjoyed this. I went in with super low expectations due to the posts here and was thoroughly entertained.

The kills were great. The mask looked great. And that’s really what I’m here for lol

grey hairs, get out of me zoots! Prestigious

I liked this movie, the humor was a lot better placed here and the kills were gnarly.

I dont need it to make sense that all the older victims are friends or whatever, it's a horror sequel not the godfather. Also don't mind DGG introduces the characters who get killed in whacky ways, what you just want him to show up and kill randos? Don't get that criticism really, makes them at least feel somewhat real and you don't want to see them die. RIP big and Lil john.
