The Brooks thing is probably not racist but it’s definitely fucking dumb. I had been waffling on whether to share that when I saw it the first time, but along with some other things I’ve seen him tweet about COVID it paints the picture of a guy who has dangerous and unhelpful thoughts on it.

 

What else has he tweeted about COVID?

 

Im sorry, I don’t know how to embed tweets but the top tweet on his page now is about mask mandates on flights and how they relate to snack time. He’s right that the rules on planes are kind of nonsense, but in the pattern of everything, I think that his sentiment is more likely anti-mask than anti-snack.

Earlier in August also tweeted about Joe Biden “being on vacation” during the Afghanistan withdrawal, common right wing talking point.

The comments about airplanes and Biden in a vacuum are iffy but could be excusable, if he didn’t throw away any chance at getting the benefit of the doubt with the stupid tweet about Beijing cases.

It's not out yet but Kim Petras reportedly has a song from her upcoming album (from people who have heard it) where she actually defends working with Dr. Luke and calls out the "haters" (presumably those criticizing her for working with Dr. Luke)

The specific criticism that Joe Biden was on vacation during the entire Afghanistan withdrawal is just literally not true though. Pretending he was was a big right wing talking point in those couple weeks. Brooks tweeted that on August 18, the day after Biden’s original vacation plans were scheduled to end, that Biden had mostly not performed anyway by returning to Washington almost every day during.
