    who'd be a 10 for you?

    the halo guy?

Idk if any character would be a 10 until I see their moveset. A 10/10 solely for hype would be Spyro or Master Chief, probably.

Edit: I actually changed Banjo and Sora to a 10/10

I really don’t understand why people get so emotional about extra characters, everything super smash bros have done has almost always been good and it doesn’t mean they think your favorites suck

    Piranha Plant - 9/10
    Joker - 8/10
    Hero - 4/10
    Banjo-Kazooie - 10/10
    Terry - 6/10
    Byleth - 7/10
    Min Min - 6/10
    Steve - 5/10
    Sephiroth - 7/10
    Pyra/Mythra - 3/10
    Kazuya - 6/10
    Sora - 1/10

Not trying to be weird or reactionary with the Sora ranking. Without having played him/ knowing his moveset, he is genuinely my new least favourite character overall.

Because people want their favorites in the game just like how others GET their favorites in the game.

You see how happy people got when Sora got in? Some people were legitimately screaming and crying. If people are allowed to share those feelings I don't see why the opposite needs to be scrutinized so much.

Idk, I just don’t understand why either feel any way. It’s not an achievement award, it’s a basic fighting arcade game that’s pretty fun to play here and there. I guess I’m not a big enough fan of smash to understand.

Based on your other posts, I can only assume you are taking the piss out of me. I just mean from a character standpoint, I dont like him, haha. Wont belabour the point though as it seems to be irritating to some.

Or a big enough fan of these franchises people are passionate about. Why do people care so much about Star Wars? I don't like it or care about that franchise, but I understand people are invested in it.

You may as well just be curious as to why people care about anything.

I still think the only fighter that made no sense was Kazuya.

Hi! I'm not a Smash player but I am big fan of gaming in general, and so I hope I might be able to help a little here.

While fighting games are not generally my jam, I do recognize that they are a big deal as a genre in competitive circles and for people who just generally like to be competitive.

Smash Bros. may have started as just Nintendo's flagship fighting series, but it has since become more of a love letter to gaming in general, and so having a character in Smash is as much a recognition and respect for that series as anything that exists in this world. It's a nod saying "yes, you are worthy."

That people get behind bizarre characters like Waluigi is really another example of this. Fans like to have their franchises recognized, as it's a recognition for them in turn. Everyone wants to be a part of the action.

So to say Smash is a "basic fighting arcade game that's pretty fun" is absolutely a true statement, but also completely undermining what it means to gaming and gamers in general.

Not saying it means this to me; I don't play Smash. I'm just saying, I get it...

...however. I do think people need to dial back their feelings a bit.

That has nothing to do with Smash, that's how I feel with everything in general. People put way too much importance on this kind of stuff. "Screaming and crying"? Completely unnecessary. And to be fair, I would feel the same if someone was rubbing their excitement in people's faces. It's... depressing, actually.

That said, I have always felt it's weird for people to interrupt discussions of people genuinely excited by something to ruin their fun by stressing how much they think it sucks. Like, any time I feel annoyed by something, I don't actively seek out a group of people who are happy with it to dampen the mood. I don't really get the point of doing that.

I don't know, this isn't really directed at you at all, this is me just rambling about stuff since it seemed appropriate.

I'm not sure why Kazuya would make any less or more sense than Ryu or Terry Bogard. I mean, they're from fighting game franchises, and they're historically important. Unless you mean that they should've chosen a different character?

I was screaming because I’ve wanted Sora in Smash ever since Brawl first introduced the idea that non-Nintendo characters could be in the game. So about 15 or so years. You wait that long for anything and then it finally happens, you’re going to be excited.

The cool thing about Sora is that he is literally the impossible becoming the possible when it comes to copyrights and licensing.

I also don't hate any character getting into Smash. The more characters, the better. They could've continued adding characters I know nothing about and I'd still buy them and their stages. There are some characters I don't enjoy playing as compared to others, but every addition is nice in some way, shape or form.

I think a more interesting character from that franchise would have made sense.

Maybe, but I think it's a given with any third party franchise, if they're going to choose a character, it will be one that everyone is familiar with that helps promote the franchise.

I feel that way about the fighting game additions, really would have liked it if they went funky for at least one of them. I think its great that those games are represented but wish it would have led to more than just 4 buff dudes.

Ryu, ken, terry, and kazuya. Fighting games have really cool and unique designs, kind of lame.that all 4 shared a similar archetype when theres other really cool options.
