Surprised on the lack of love for Spellbound, that one gives me the vibes of what a current Tom back in Blink song would probably sound like (can easily imagine Mark singing some of the backing vocal parts in the responses).

"spellbound" rules, the spiraling synth work in that chorus is so rad

  4. It’s just too repetitive or something for me. Doesn’t really go anywhere. It’s just kinda there.

Lifeforms is cool, but Nine is a better record imo

Nothing on Lifeforms has the lead guitar moment from “On Some Emo Shit” therefore Nine is a better album. Lifeforms is still a very good album and something I didn’t expect to like as much as I do.

Very curious to see what AVAs first week numbers look like.

There’s no evidence at all this is gonna happen but that doesn’t mean im not gonna manifest a Blink with Mark and Tom performance

What happened to the Travis on vocals project thing? Did that ever come out? I’m sure it’ll only lead to people arguing about who’s the best vocalist from this band.

I mean it's definitely odd that Matt wouldn't make an appearance.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

It really doesn’t seem like there is much of a relationship between Mark/Travis and Matt.

Must be that time of the thread to read too much into anything we can find

  15. I can confirm that that may or may not be true.

Good on Travis for really pushing this new era of pop punk

How many years of friendship/collaboration are there between Mark and Travis and either of them and Matt? Yes, he’s in Blink, but he was hired into the band to keep in going because the other guy was unreliable. Also, they don’t need to all best best friends. He probably lets the other guys take the lead on Blink things, because Alk3 is more his band and brand that he’s built with Dan and Derek who he probably has a closer relationship with, because of the years together.

We are also not privy to all communications between the guys (for good reason) but I’d guess Feldmann may be in there tighter too. In hindsight maybe he could have been called ahead of Matt as a replacement, but people already complain so much about him too already and he’s only there as a producer.

As much I as I love Skiba and was excited about getting darker +44/Trio/Sekrets blend (which didn’t happen)…I think California would sound absolutely perfect with Feldman on vocals

Very possibly. Who knows if it was every considered.

To me, a band that had become very inactive with Blink got an injection of energy and productivity working with Matt and Jon. I like California and Nine. I’m sure both guys are trying to figure out where they fit into the band replacing key members like Tom and Jerry. There have been missteps like Jon having encouraged joke tracks on California and Matt’s quirky behaviours/interests becoming a distraction at times. In the grand scheme of things though, this band is active, they are working on developing their sound and Tom fans seem happy with his AvA stuff (plus we still got Trio, and the other guys are busy working on stuff and most importantly overcoming health and personal challenges).

I’ve enjoyed what they’ve done so far. Nine has few more obvious Matt elements, and I guess we are lucky to see what comes from them musically when the time is right.

I just love that blink is still a thing….even after Tom left AGAIN. Plus, Mark is now cancer free and Travis is flying again.

….And Tom is playing his old Box Car Racer sticker guitar live again.

Just realized Tom has now officially been gone longer than he was the first time around. 3 more years and we'll be just as removed from Neighborhoods as we were from Untitled when Neighborhoods was released.

  23. This is crazy.

Travis has been an official member of blink-182 for as long as Tom was. 19 years.

  24. Sometimes it’s wild to think about how the period in which the band was on top of the world (1999-2003) only lasted 4 years.
