When you rented a game from blockbuster you usually couldn’t rent another game until you returned it, at some point I think they let you try out a game also but you had to return it within a few days instead of the regular week? I mean this was so long ago but I vaguely remember something like that because I remember them calling and telling me to return shit and I still hadn’t played it yet because I got caught up in the other game I rented lol

My mom would take me and my brother to blockbuster at least twice a week to rent games

My older brother rented the Grinch on PS1 and kept it for a year without anyone knowing because we didn’t go often. We ended up owing blockbuster $125 for the Grinch.

Did you just end up buying the game? I don’t see how they could charge you if you just bought the game from them

No I don’t think they offered us to buy the game, but I was 9 when that happened so I’m not sure. We just never went back to blockbuster. We had a couple other video game rental stores we used anyways.

There was a place near me called Pik-A-Video that I liked much more than blockbuster.

  14. I got a lot of cool shit out of my local blockbuster when it was closing years back.

Snagged about 20ish 360 games for about $100

The Blockbuster documentary on Netflix is awesome. Fun fact: they were approached by Netflix in the past and laughed them out the door.

That brings up a good point, you should have waited to return that game when they were so desperate for customers they waived all late fees. (Which was financial suicide by the way)

So I'm still playing Eastward and tonight I stopped at the beginning of Chapter 6. Really enjoying it, and looking forward to finding out what all this nonsense is about.

I've continued to be meticulous in making sure I have everything before leaving, and I think I'm pretty well on course to getting all the achievements. The only ones I've been actively avoiding for now are the ones related to the game-within-a-game Earth Born, which I'll save until the last possible minute.

Don't get me wrong, it's really cool that the developers decided to put a full blown 8-bit RPG in the middle of their Zelda-style adventure game, but I'm also not particularly in the mood for it.

On a different note, I'm also still playing Guardian Tales via Bluestacks but I've hit a brick wall in the game that is leaving me somewhat frustrated.

I'm in World 11, and up until now the game has allowed me to revive my party upon death repeatedly for an ever increasing amount of the game's currency. Starts at 30 gems, then 60, then 90, etc. This is fine because the currency isn't that hard to come by and I've been able to progress pretty steadily without needing to abuse the privilege.

Except now they've changed the ball game. In World 11, you can only revive your party 3 times total per level before needing to start a level over, and on top of that, I'm now at a point where the enemies are ridiculously overpowered, so my party is dying pretty quickly.

From what I've read online, it sounds like everyone hits this same brick wall, and the only way around it is to either grind your party into superpowers or play the gacha for better heroes and weapons, which you'd still need to grind into superpowers.

Also, I guess there's one hero in particular that got introduced that becomes almost a necessity to move forward because they break the game that much, so... that's cool.

I know I’ve mentioned it before but it generally sucks how I’m incapable of really playing games. It has to be something special just to keep me hooked.

and the fact I keep playing smite which is obviously bad for my health is a bummer also.

sorry for spamming but I’ll be done soon lol, made it to hades for the first time on try number 22, don’t think I got to 50% but it was close however. just a matter of time until I get my first escape, and then the real game begins
