Books of Blood on Hulu was p good. Had to stick with my Clive Barker kick.

Watching Pulse tonight -- never seen it and it's leaving Tubi this weekend. Stoked for it

Paranorman is dope. Can't believe I've never seen this. So many adult themes.

How is Vans gonna do a horror collab release the same month as a new Halloween movie releasing yet leave that franchise out while using all of its peers. Smdh.

  7. Watched False Positive on a whim tonight and...didn't hate it? Was definitely expecting worse based on reactions. Thought a good portion of it was nonsensical, but it was also effective and relatively shocking. Need to sleep on it.

What did you think of the holistic doctor who decided in the third act that she wasn't what she was presented as for the whole rest of the movie? My friend did an episode of her podcast about the movie and her theory is that the character was originally written to play that trope but sometime late in filming someone pointed out that it's a racist trope and they decided to retcon it"

My initial reaction was it was pretty mediocre but the more I thought about it the more I disliked it

  10. Yeah, so that's one of several moments I read as nonsensical - essentially anything that could have been considered a hallucination or a dream sequence (and I don't think that's a spoiler) is literally never explained. Which would be fine if the movie decided to either play by its own rules or not at all, but to only play by some of them is where the issue lies. That's...a really interesting theory, actually.

One thing I can say for sure is it doesn't feel like an A24 film

This is my go-to movie for my daughter. Gonna milk it for all it's worth.

I'd never wear any of those, but the Freddy ones are pretty sweet.

Really wanna do Paranorman and Monster House this season. Also Goosebumps. Did Halloweentown last night at the behest of my gf.

Did anyone watch The House with a Clock in its Walls? I'm curious to see if Eli Roth is better at kids movies than horror. lol

It wasn't my favorite, but it was certainly enjoyable and far from the standard Roth fare.

House With A Clock In Its Walls is good!

That and Hostel are the only Eli Roth movies one seen haha

  22. Paranorman and Goosebumps rule. Still haven't seen Monster House. I forgot Roth did The House With the Clock in its walls, but yes! Definitely better than his usual work.

  23. Yeah, it definitely felt like test screenings/reviews didn't go well and they dumped to streaming, almost like an Under the SIlver Lake situation. Reminded me a bit of Tusk (which I do enjoy) in terms of being a polarizing non-standard release from that studio.
