It will probably leak in some way I would guess. There are advances out there.

Most things don't "leak" these days, they typically show up early once they're available on release day in another country, usually NZ since it's 16 hours ahead of the East Coast in the US.

I believe most, if not all, of the advances are watermarked and so don't typically get leaked.

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

I’d really love to learn how advances are watermarked these days. Is it just in the code of the file? I know they don’t use audible marks anymore.

  4. Inaudible watermark encoded into the waveforms of the songs, whether pressed onto a physical CD or in an advance download.

And you bet this is watermarked. I don't have it but it's Epitaph Records, they know their shit.

So tomorrow we should see reviews right? Every review I've seen out there has been severely lacking to put it nicely.

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

I was listening to a podcast with Ed, and he basically said that Horizons/East is the happiest they've ever been in terms of what singles have been released and what's been saved for the actual record release. He admitted to not always liking their single choices.

Not a “single” based band in my mind. They’ve always been album driven. Lullaby is proof of that I believe.

We reach for the longest shadow

I was never a huge Thrice fan, but I loved TBEITBN when it first came out and was super disappointed in Palms. These singles sound great though, I hope to be pleasantly surprised come Friday.

  12. From a recent press release: "translating the mathematical Fibonacci sequence into a guitar riff"

OK, now I need to find out which song this is ...

    Fight the long defeat.

Sounds like Northern Lights, per this interview with Ed (https://bit.ly/3Ai6pNa). Stoked to hear this record in just a few days.

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

The Fibonacci stuff just reminds me of Dave Grohl's playbook. Every album cycle, he comes up with a selling point or two for the press tour. "We made this album in my garage." / "We made this album in a haunted house in Encino." / "We went from city to city, recording in different studios...." / "A huge pop star did background vocals on this record."

Guest vocals from the pope would be pretty interesting.
