This might be number 1 right now but it has almost zero staying power I would say

  11. But perhaps the grandest statement Kanye has made over the past month of his album rollout is his role in the indictment of the attention industrial complex he’s long since conquered. Because after three massive productions, weeks of breathless coverage and social media saturation, is this really all he has to say? If, despite all the pomp and circumstance, the result is inherently shallow, his infinite self-reflection—and our obsession with it—says as much about us as it does about him.

Reading the article, this is the easiest legal case I could possibly imagine in this area of the law lol.

Like, they have text messages, video of a facetime chat, emails. And the logo is virtually identical. Just absolutely brazen. This man is disgusting.

  20. God May Forgive Kanye West, but You Don’t Have To

This comes pretty close to summing up my feelings. This album is exhausting, and anything even remotely interesting is overshadowed by the rollout's toxicity. Even the Weeknd sounding like a literal angel can't save it. It's not Yeezus or TLOP. It's just a boring collection of bad songs with faint glimmers of potential.

That said, this thread is one of the few places I see people actively trying to hold KW accountable (whatever that means). I think that deserves to be acknowledged. Clearly the public doesn't really care but it's nice to know misery loves company.

This was work to get through. There’s no denying it’s bloated. Compared to Ye, KSG and JIK it’s undeniably a return to form. Certainly his best work since TLOP. Jail, Off the Grid, Praise God, Believe What I Say, Moon, Jesus Lord, New Again, and Come to Life are all standouts. Would be interested in making a tight 45 min album out of these songs

This is his worst album IMO, even worse than JIK. The only song I almost like is Jail and even that is kind of underwhelming. I'm just not hearing what other people are hearing when they say there's a good album somewhere in this mess.

This album has, by FAR, the worst lyrics of any album I've heard this year

I don't think ye, KSG or JIK are any good at all, but I'd rather listen to any of those again before suffering through this terrible album again

just completely devoid of anything worth clinging onto, and those are the lyrics that aren’t completely incoherent
