    The rivalry is back on

MADE IN HEIGHTS randomly showed up on my Spotify release playlist, which reminded me of how much I used to love them

Seeing them on that playlist led to me wanting to listen to them, where I found a page with no music because apparently the members are beefing and never renewed their license to put the music back on streaming. RIP

I just went through my whole external hard drive and uploaded at least 150 albums/EPs from 2000 to 2012 ish to a MegaNZ account. Most of the bands I don’t remember whatsoever so I’m excited to listen through a few of them tomorrow while I work.

As I go through this old hard drive of early 2000s music I found, I’m uploading stuff to this blog. Basically everything is from between 2000 and 2011.

    FORGOTTEN BUT NOT LOST

Everything includes download links so you can re-add stuff to your collection for when you want to go down memory lane. I also included links to everything that’s on Spotify so you can listen to stuff there and add to your “early 2000s pop punk/emo” playlists and whatnot.

I’m remembering how much a lot of these bands rule! Holy Roman Empire, A Thorn For Every Heart, Yesterdays Rising, Bottom Line, Watashi Wa…

Now there's a name I didn't expect to see here. Without My Enemy... is such a rad album. Their singer's released some music in a similar vein to MIH (of which I'm sure you're aware), so there's that at least.

  11. Anyone else remember the band Places To Park? They put out one full length back in 2002. Post hardcore/emo/rock kinda band. I just found their album in a stack of old CDs.

Living With Lions Holy Shit was SUCH A HUGE RECORD for me. If you don't have it let me know and I can make it happen for ya'.

Also, Crash of Rhinos is the damn best. I think some of the guys are in a band called Holding Patterns (or something like that).

On another note: I had The Fully Down's Don't Get Lost in a Movement. I remember deciding to buy that one day over something else. I made the wrong choice. I was soooooooo mad at myself for picking it up and not getting the other one instead.

It wouldn’t surprise me if I’ve mentioned them here before a long time ago, but Renee Heartfelt. This song still rules.

  16. I do have Holy Shit. I need to post it still.

and duuuude that Fully Down album rules!!! You need to go back to it and see if your opinion changes. I love it.

I also loved Jupiter One’s first album. Haven’t heard it in almost ten years though since it’s not on Spotify anymore… I should probably try to find it elsewhere.

Putting my blog together, I completely forgot how much Jenoah ruled! Their EP still really holds up.

Not necessarily about a band that has faded away - but this thread has got me reminiscing about the way I used to hear new music. I remember waiting for hours to download music videos through Kazaa on 56k AOL internet

This is one of the clips I remember seeing and was completely obsessed with

  24. Same. I have fond memories of staying up late watching MCM, a music channel that would switch to Metal stuff every Wednesday at midnight. I would take notes of the new discoveries and then download the music videos on hdpvidz dot com. Otherwise I'd use Limewire, with all the risks of stumbling upon virus or porn it ensued. That was around 2005/2006, so right at the start of YouTube.

  25. I remember having to go on EbaumsWorld to watch funny videos because YouTube didn’t exist yet. Haha crazy.
