"tidal wave" is the shortest punchiest song on the record. rest of it is considerably more expansive and chance-taking. "you can't look back" is prob the most conservative of these songs

Any crazy high belting parts that Adam is known for and that he def will struggle with live but sounds great on record anyway?

I thought Happiness Is was pretty decent, haven't been back to it in a while but I'm marginally excited for this

Man, you guys are getting me too hyped up for this album. Hopefully we get a stream next week.

Yeah, I'm STOKED for this album. I thought Happiness Is was the best thing they had done since Louder Now. By Far, too.

I wish I was cool enough to get an advance copy. Oh, well. But, yeah, hopefully there's a stream or something next week.

General public will react to the record well. It's definitely a more thoughtful, intricate and calculated album than they've released in quite some time. Basically, there's a ton of attention to detail in this record. You can tell they really were specific and picky about what they wanted and made it happen. Tidal Wave really isn't an accurate depiction of the record, Can't Look Back is a much closer to what the rest of it sounds like. I'm not sure if Adam really belts on this record, but there's ton of catharsis and emotional one liners that resonate and stick in your mind.

I legitimately didn't know the Bayside album was coming until after the release date. Very strange because I remember following the hype train closely in anticipation of Cult.

Yeah, it's a bummer because each of their releases since TWW had significant jumps on the Billboard 200. Cult debuted around No. 20 so I assumed they'd keep growing and maybe Vacancy would be top 15 or so...it was No. 69.

Such a shame because the album is really, really good.

seems like there's something going on with hopeless records? I mean look at Yellowcard too. Their last album is coming out soon and I don't see much about it anywhere.

Vacancy really did seem to get slept on. I thought it was solid. I have a pretty good feeling about this album as well.

Live version of Holy Water sounds great on youtube. Just from the video alone it might be one my favorite things they've ever done. For those that have heard the record, how does the recorded version sound???

Why does Adam take lead vocals when they perform Existentialism on Prom Night? I don't GET IT

Typical but understandable answer. Wish it wasn't the case and they had him sing it for old times sake.

even if there isn't a stream i really hope they release "death wolf" in advance of the album, it's just... like it's really their best ever song maybe. i wonder if i'm hyping it up too much but those were my expectations going in and they were totally fulfilled

if you had to compare it to one other TBS song, what would it be? or is it a complete departure altogether?

idk it sort of builds on everything happiness is.. laid out. the riff in the verses also sorta resembles "what's it feel like to be a ghost"
