Season 4 of the wire is so damn good. I just keep rewatching the whole series over and over again since initially finishing it a few months ago

If I wasn't using my parents Netflix account I'd honestly consider cutting it. It's hands down the worst when it comes to GOOD content. The only thing I actively watch are like explained haha or like some docu maybe. Their abundance of content strategy is really getting rough cause now when something new on Netflix comes I assume it's shit.

Now with like hbo I actually assume the opposite. Quality over quantity.

Hulu and prime are right in the middle.

Netflix is definitely my #4 now.

That's a correct assessment, HBO is killing the game once again after a little spotty section when all the other streamers were really ramping up their show purchases and I assume HBO was getting scooped on some

Tried watching barb and star. Couldn't make it last 30minutes. I stayed for the vaness bayer cameo.

Look. Kristin Wiig. We get it. 40yo Midwestern single woman is like the funniest thing ever but I think its finally ran its course don't ya think. Shed been doing this same shtick for too long. Honestly, I think this entire movie might even work better with an unknown at the helm.

Zany comedy can be good but I don't like it when it's way over the top right away with the whole evil bad guy in the beginning and what not.

I think I prefer zany characters interacting in the real world more so than the entire world is zany... or even worse. Theres dozens of zany characters and yet the world is real.

Idk. Im blabbering. Not a fan

I hated that film too, just wasn't for me at all. I think I turned it off around the half hour mark too.

We absolutely need more ridiculous comedies in that vein (Austin Powers, etc)

what's the general consensus on Boardwalk Empire around here? I see it has an 8.5 on imdb so I assume it's good

I watched like... the first season? half the first season? Actually I think I watched the first full season then quit a few episodes into Season 2, that sounds right

It’s really good as far as I remember but it also takes itself a little too seriously at times. I quit somewhere in season 2 or 3 not because I lost interest but because the episodes had so much going on and it was so dark (but at times beautiful) it ended up being too big a commitment I was willing to give at the time. Think I’d like to return to it someday tho

I know I’m late to the party by 6-7 years maybe by this point but everyone with Prime should watch Billions. Prime has the first three seasons (out of 5 seasons so far) so if you get sucked in like me don’t blame me when you have to add on the Showtime channel to catch up the rest of the way.

i know it’s not at all the same but it deals with “business” so now I’m on to Suits since I’m in this kind of mood.

    Better than you, sorry

I watched Boardwalk Empire when it aired. I liked it. I guess I was always into shows like that and Mad Men, Billions, House of Lies, The Wire, Sopranos, Band Of Brothers, Homeland. Some people find them boring but I love the pacing of shows like these. Just the right amount of suspense, action, drama, etc.

And Suits was great too. Nothing beats its premiere episode.

  22. I just saw Reminiscence in theaters, but it's also on HBO Max if you want to save yourself the trip. Pretty much what you'd expect from the people who made Westworld. If you think Westworld is a little too convoluted and a little lacking in thematical depth, you'll probably feel the same way about Reminiscence. But if you enjoy Westworld despite that, you'll probably also enjoy Reminiscence. The cast is kind of an odd hodgepodge of two actors from Westworld and two from Doctor Sleep. Hugh Jackman, Thandiwe Newton, and Rebecca Ferguson are obviously great. Minor gripes, not enough Daniel Wu and Angela Sarafyan. Cliff Curtis is okay in his role but (minor spoiler) why give him the big fight scene with Wolverine when Sunny is right there???
