I truly feel bad for anyone that lives in Atlantic City. It has such sad vibe and has an incredibly high crime rate.

 

It's me, someone who lives in south jersey.

The south jersey you are all referring to is the pine barrens and noman's land between the west side of the state and east side. It's normal suburban sprawl within 25-30 miles of Philly

 

I personally love AC but I've mostly hit the casinos and Boardwalk/Beach. They also have a nice outlet stores area. Tropicana karaoke is the way to go. Also I like gambling, mostly blackjack.

 

I used to live in Tuckerton. That place is a fucking hell hole. Mosquitos, gnats, and greenheads. Pick your poison.

 

Where I grew up in central Jersey is also surprisingly conservative. It sucks!

 

Yeah the long and sad history of AC is really not something that can or should be reduced down to that kind of comment.

AC also has White House Subs, which is one of the best, if not the best, sub shops in the state.

 

What makes a sub shop good? Its just cold cuts.

Agreed. There's also Chef Vola's, one of the best old school Italian restaurants in the country. And Dock's Oyster House is probably the best raw bar in the Mid-Atlantic.

 

White House Subs also has the absolute greatest cherry pepper relish I've ever had and it kicks every single one of their sandwiches from a 10/10 up to a 100/10 instantly.

 

If I get a cold sub, it's usually just from Subway, but if I get a hot sub it's gotta be from my favorite pizza place

 

I miss White House Subs. Stupid Celiac Disease.

 

The best chain around here tends to be Jimmy Johns, can’t stand subway and Jersey Mike’s is often trash

 

Almost any deli is better than a chain in my experience

 

If you don't have a local deli for subs, Jersey Mike's is the best approximation. Only chain I can think of that actually slices everything fresh when you order it, which is crucial.
