Man, Keith remains the greatest lyricist in Metal of all time. I’ll die on that hill.

New track is a lot of fun and I love that they still can bring something fresh to the table after all this time. Keith sounds like he’s really channeling some Cedric/ATDI with his delivery in this one.

Lol. The only even slightly insane part of that is possibly Keith being the greatest metal lyricist of all time. I don't agree with it personally, but it's not a hot take at all. He's a damn good lyricist.

 

The “my annihilation” line and the rapid lyric fire in other spots is very Cedric-esque. Clicked in my head immediately.

I do not know another metal lyricist who has serious/fun/thought-provoking all nailed down depending on what track the band has written. Doesn’t hurt that he was an English teacher either so he always has a line in every track where I’m like how!?

 

i meant the best metal lyricist of all time part. the cedric part is whatever. keith might be the best metalcore lyricist of all time, even though that on its own feels like a bit of a stretch. keith being the best metal lyricist of all time is insane.

 

So then who do you hold in higher regard as a lyricist. Cause the word “insane” makes it seem as if I’m glaringly ignoring another who blows Keith out of the water?

 

Also laughing at the distinction being made that I’m insane for saying “metal vocalist” but “metalcore vocalist” would’ve been accepted fine.

 

keith is easily the best lyricist in metal, it's not even close

 

I'd put him and Josh Scogin at the top of whatever genre you want to call it.

 

Scogin's writing is catchier but far more simplistic than Keith's.
